ok, so i got this pretty good sized leather coral at a frag swap the other day.
Local reefer was tearing down his tank, getting out of hobby so we did the meeting at his place.
Well i bought a huge rock thats full of fire and ice zoas and its got a big chunk of leather coral on the front of it, probably about 4-5": high with several branches.
I've never owned a leather before and the previous owner said it was going through "it's leather thing" right now.
It doesnt have too much color to it and none of the bumps that I see on other leathers.
Its in my QT frag tank right now under new LED lighting. the otehr corals seem to be reacting well to the light so i'm assuming thats ok.
Just can't tell if I'm doing something wrong or if its just doing its leather thing or its angry from the move.
There is another smaller leather that looks just fine, got it on the same rock.
in addition (I like to give all the info i can) his tank crashed several months ago due to a kalkwasser overdose, so these corals are fighting through all that too, and several are very bleached (the montis mostly). I dunno if this would ahve any effect on it, but I'm just throwing out there.
Do I just sit and wait for it to do its leather thing?
