I KNOW!!! that drives me crazy!!!
you know what, i hate obnoxious kids, and even more, their parents for not controlling them... I have so many stories about when i worked at the picture people. My manager had acne, not too bad, but noticable. And one day, a little kid (maybe 7 or 8) looked at her mom and said "what are those red things all over that lady's face???"... that may not have been so bad, because it was just a kid, but did the mom say that's not nice? noooo, instead she said "those are zits, honey"... my boss burst into tears of course, and i just gave the lady the dirtiest look, and proceeded to send her daugher to the worst photographer we had working that day...
another time, this customer was mad because i wouldn't give her free pictures, so she instructed her kids to "break anything you can before we leave". I proceeded to tell her (not so nicely) that if her kids broke anything as a result of her instructions, not only would i charge her for the products, but i would call the police and have a report filed for vandalism. She of course took her kids and left.
I cannot stand it when customers expect free stuff either... I had this one lady once who didn't like the pictures because her daughter was smiling her "real smile", and she doesn't like her daughter's real smile, so she asked if she could have free pictures... I was like "huh? you want free pictures of pictures you don't even like? no, i cannot do that." I then asked her if she told the photographer that she didn't like the smiles at the time and she said no... i told her we could do a re-shoot, but she told me that wouldn't be good enough. I then told her that i would not give her a free picture because there was nothing wrong with the pictures... they were all centered, in focus, and perfect. to which she replied that she "works at sears photography, and she knows how pictures should really be taken" to which i replied "then why don't you photograph her yourself". She left...
and then we always had customers who came on in christmas eve, at 5:30 to be photographed, and wanted their pictures back that day... we close at 6:00 and a sitting takes 20 mintues, and the pictures take an hour to be developed. Then they get mad at me because i tell them the pics won't be ready in time... then i get the "these are for my wife for christmas, and i need them today" story, to which i reply "then you should have gotten them taken a week ago". Then i tell them i will not keep my employees late on christmas eve, and that the store will close at 6:00 pm... that never sat well with those customers, but serves them right for doing it at the last minute!
ugh, bad customers are right up there with bad customer service.
