My friend, yes I have one, called today to say he got poked by his. Ran his thumb under "HOT" water for like 15 minutes and the pain was still intense. He did this last night and still had pain in his thumb this afternoon if he put any pressure on it.
"Henry it was like putting your thumb in a microwave then hitting it with a hammer!"
AND THIS...is why I never really looked into them

you just have to be very careful with them and watch where they are in the tank when you are doing stuff

I attempted to photoshop the picture "back" to make the lion look "normal" but there was nothing i could do other than make it look like the fish was having a trip. I concur that the picture is not photoshopped in any way.

I really want to do a Lion/Frogfish/haven't completely made up my mind tank once the move is complete and I'm going to need to pick your brain, LOL.
what happened to the mantis tank ?
I have 13 tanks up and running that are cycled to play with so I can do both, LOL

This particular lion is for sale locally, the guy who took this pic is selling him, I wonder if it's worth looking into?

Well I have been reading the last couple of nights about dwarf lionfish. I am going to convert my 40 gallon breeder (now an HT) into a dwarf fuzzy lionfish tank. My son really likes them. Now I have been trying to see what would be compatable with a DFL in a 40 - eels need bigger tank (snowflake might work but the tank is a bit small) - foxface - way to small tank. I have read any small fish would eventually be eaten by the DFL. Would any larger wrasses work or does anybody have any other suggestions. Thanks for looking.

I've been contemplating them a lot. I'm intrigued by a Yellow Dwarf Fuzzy that a local reefer has.
He has it in a 55 with a frogfish, a butterflyfish of some sort and a full grown female maroon clown that stays in her anemone all day.

That is interesting - I could get a larger clown - my BTA split in my 65 reef. Butterflys are tricky from what I have read, thank BTLD

LOL. The guy did post other pics and he's still pretty yellow, but definitely not the same as he looks in that reef.

Welcome. Hopefully Cranberry or Saxman will chime in.
I'm thinking of a dwarf of some sort with a Gold Barred Maroon clown (possibly a pair) and a RBTA and possibly a frogfish (need to research these guys more) in a 55G or 40B. I really want to use my 40 breeder as a reef again, I just love the way reefs look in 40G Breeders. If I do the 55, I'll probably add an Auriga Butterfly or my Copperband that I already have.

I wouldn't put an angler with much. It's incredible what they can take down.
Follow this link to see what we have in the our 60g. All would be appropriate for a 40g.

It is you that has the anthias with the Fu manchu! How did I miss this when I was looking at your page!
What's your honest opinion about placing three 4" Maldives Lyretails (1 male, 2 female) with a dwarf? And can two dwarfs be kept together if they're the same species?
Al, sorry I'm stealing your thread

The fuzzies would be fine with 4+" lyretails. Our smallest blotchy isn't 4".
With dwarfs, you can keep more than one female, but can keep only one male of a single species. Only the Fuzzies and the Barberi's are sexable. If you try to keep 2 malesof the same species in anything but a very large tank, they will fight.
You can see their size different here a little.

Ok. Well I like the Yellow Dwarf and Hubby likes the Fu manchu, those two would be fine together I'm assuming? BTW, I think you have the coolest tanks

Yes, those would be fine together. More so than even some of the more similar species like the zebra and the fuzzy.
We're really trying hard to get the tanks all together. Thanks.
