Ok, just an update. I am getting decent growth of the coral but I feel it could be better. Also, my green slimmer still has not colored back up after it lost color in quarantine. It's a light flesh color with bright lime green polyps. I never had issues with metal halides and color. I have placed an order thru brs and am adding a mini reactor to use a mix of carbon and gfo. I have a feeling my phosphate levels are elevated. I have cheato in the sump but I am seeing a few strands of "hair algae" on the rock. It's not the standard type, seems like it's coarser. Maybe a form of turf?? It might have hitchhiked in the cheato. I wouldn't have used it if I'd known! Anyway, figure it will not hurt to run a reactor. I was considering the Zeo-vit method as well but opted to try this first. My nitrate level is zero, so I'm aiming at phos levels. I am going to turn down the white LEDs as well, and shorten the time they are on. I think this should work.
