That's what I originally thought.

The Cardnial is happy and content to the side of the tank he "hangs out" with the Diamond Goby most of the time. The Chromis trys to school with my Solar Fairy Wrasse ....opps forgot he was in there too.
But they both are several years old.

Okay I'm pretty sure the cleaner shrimp died, I can't find him anywhere. That's 2 that I've bought and killed. I feel horrible. My parameters are all good, the only one I am sketchy about in my salinity, which is at 35 ppt (refractometer). Is this high? I was told it was ideal.
Also, my sailfin is a PIG! He eats a full 4"x4" sheet of algae a day. Is that normal? Or am I overfeeding?
And, hair algae, I bought the lawn mover blenny to eat it but he's not really doing his job. I have 2 turbos also. Should I get some more turbos and maybe a sally lightfoot crab? I really hate this stuff.

I had 2 cardnials but one decided he wanted to go for a ride down the over flow befor I added a net to stop him......BTW it is to much for them on that trip

The Chromis was my "tank tester" after the cycle for all my tanks He is retired now to live out his life in the 120...5 tanks later.
I might add a copple more chromis hearing this. Never heard it befor will it make them less or more agressive? Not that he is a problem now the clown keeps him in check
The tangs poped him a few times too

oh okay, im sorry for the lost. but telling him to get one fish of the cardinal and chromis is giving him false info. Once again not trying to be rude in anyway but a schooling fish should be kept in a school.

I think its just some sort of green algae. I see the LMB pick at it all the time. But I have coraline growing on top of it. So it doesn't really bother me.

i figured as much. I have tried to blow it off with a turkey baster, but it doesn't come off. I guess a LMB is next on my list.

Nice tank. Just read through your entire thread. Will tag on from here.
Thanks! I ordered some more turbos to get rid of the hair algae. Also a sally light foot, and a blue tuxedo urchin.
Should be here sometime next week.

LOL...YES...get a sally light foot....and I believe I mentioned emerald crabs too

A couple more turbos wouldn't hurt either
A 4X4 sheet of algae a day IMO is not too much....as long as they are eating it anyhow
35ppt is comparable to sg of 1.025 so IMO that is fine
How are you acclimating the cleaner shrimp? They are very very sensitive

for the hair algae the astrea snails do an amazing job!

also when i had my tang i would feed it an algae sheet once every 3 days or maybe till a week so i can let it gaze on the rocks. but every tang is different

I ordered 6 turbos, and a Sally lightfoot. I also put in 5 blue/green chromis. They're so little
.
And for acclimating the shrimp I set them in a bucket and have airline tubing from my tank into said bucket (dripping) for about 2 hours. After the water level doubled I took out half of the water and I did that a total of 3 times. Then I would net the shrimp and gently set them in the bottom of the tank. They're from the red sea, so I know they can withstand high salinit. So I'm stumped.
