The metal on the base of the light is one long piece, there isn't a gap in between the two screws where the brace would fit.
What do I do?!!!!!

Cut a piece of the light base out that will fit over the brace...and if you have to ....re tap the screws to the side to hold it on....I would NOT cut the brace off the tank

Solme sort of hard core super glue? I like Meowzers idea more though, sicne you wont have things sticking from the back of the tanl. but if you cant nissans idea is also good! Depends what works for you! That brace also might give the middle of your tank a shadded area. With that said you should put some corals there that dont like light to fill it up more!

Her idea wasn't bad, I was maybe thinking about sawing out the middle of the base of the light. I'd just be afraid I'd screw up the light completely. I might try and rig something up in the back of the tank though. Thanks for your concerns though!

I doubt that there is anything in the base to screw up! Just might screw up the clamp but thats the least of your worries! The light itself is the expensive part.
And for the pump pic, I have the same redish brown stuff on mine also. Its been on it since the tsank has cycled, Most of it turned into algae or soemthing since its right at the front of the fand and I see it blowing. The other stuff looks like its turning into coraline now. But I dont know what it is forsure, just hasnt messed up my tank yet!

NO...coraline comes in many colors....I do not believe that is it....looks like normal diatom algae...just leave it, do you have it anywhere else?
OH...it is a normal thing too
