SOOO I'M PISSED!
I was offered two small frags of Green/Purple Zoos over the weekend. A picture of one of the frags is in the above post where I circled the tunicate that hitchhiked on the frag.
So after I acclimated them, found a good spot for them to live, they opened right up and looked healthy. Yesterday I went to my LFS to buy some more hermits, turbo snails, and my girlfriend talked me into getting two Emerald Crabs.....

After acclimating the crabs, I added them to my tank, and they hid under some base rock for a couple hours. Before I went to bed I turned my light off and still had my living room lights on. I could still see in the tank and noticed the crabs came out and started eating algae off the rocks.
Where this story is going....
I woke up this morning to get ready for work and my small frag of green zoos are GONE!!! There was only like 3-4 heads on the frag but not any more. It's just a piece of rock with nothing on it.....WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED? I'm soo pissed...
I'm almost positive it was the crabs...or could it have possibly been hermits or even snails? Help!
Thanks,
Matt

If the WHOLE piece is missing I would have to bet they got knocked over and are either behind or underneath something....

Well if you notice the picture I took above, the polyps were spread around on the rock. The rock is still there but there's like one really small polyp left which is probably only there because it's kinda hidden and the crabs probably couldnt get to it.

Are they known to eat coral? Should I remove them?
Well on this site it says reef and coral safe: with caution
Mine have never messed with any of my corals.....BUT I am guessing by the with caution statement it is always possible....

It might not even be that though! You just have to watch them. Like Meowzer said, something else might have knocked them off the rock. I know when I bought my first zoas the hermits were walking all over them and then I found some in the sand the next morning. If you find them in the sand just pick them up and put them on a rock. Thats what I did.

I'll check that when I get home. I'm at work now. I woke up late for work this morning, then saw my Zoos were gone. I briefly looked at the sand and didnt see anything. I was half asleep though lol. I'll check right when I get home.

A guy locally is selling a Coralife Metal Halide clip-on back light for the price below. My LFS is selling this light for about $290. Is this a good buy being 6 months old? Thanks
Only used for about 6 months works great. Your corals will grow like crazy with this. Sells in any of your local shops for $300 plus tax. I will sell for $150 Firm

So I bought the Coralife Aqualight MH light today from a guy on Craigslist. I'm very happy with the amount of light this thing puts out! It's a 150W 14,000K lamp. Now it's time to get serious!! Right now I had to rig the light on my tank since I haven't bought a HOB filter yet. I removed the standard florescent bulbs and housing from my hood so that the new light can fit. Right now its clamped on the side rather than the back.
The guy I bought my light from gave me four pieces of Xenia which was really nice of him. After reading about fragging coral etc, i went ahead and super glued them to a rock and they seem to be doing ok. You can see them in the bowl I temporarily placed in my tank so they become accustom to the rock and don't drift around my tank.
I'm almost there, just need my HOB filter! Pics Below:

Yeah the missing polyps sucked but there is still about 5 on the piece of rock still. They look really healthy. Hopefully the multiply. How long does it usually take Zoos to produce more on average?

They will. I have no idea how long it takes them
I'm new to sw tanks. I think they multiply differently depending on the types of zoas

YES, they also multiply based on a lot of different tank factors...water parameters, lighting, ...you know all that good stuff...
