Yes I agree, I just can't understand why some people hates cat. Just like you, I love cats too, reading this kind of article is really a heart breaking

People who hate cats will become rats on their next life!
I don't hate cats but I do hate irrational cat owners. When I lived in Montana there was an old guy who's whole life was tending his garden. The lady next door had a cat she let run wild. The guy asked her on numerous occasions to keep her cat out of his yard as it was doing it's business in his beds. Of course she just told him that the cat was just doing what cats do and they had the right to roam.
One day the guy came out and caught her cat in his flowers and took it out. Now I am not excusing what he did but he went to jail. Shouldn't his irresponsible neighbor have joined him there? That isn't the only example of that attitude I have seen.
I don't own a cat because the wife has allergies but when I did have one I did my best to keep it in my own yard.

Someone want to come catch all the stray cats that come into my yard? My next door neighbor has 5 or 6, doesn't neuter any of them, and they go into their 'breeding season' right about now, usually on my deck right next to my bedroom window.

I've contacted my local Code Compliance, and they tell me they no longer pick up strays. They tell me if I want to do something about it, I need to go and buy a live trap ($25 - $30), catch them, then PAY for the neutering out of my own pocket ($30 - $50 for each cat)
, then bring them back and let them go. I can't even trap them and take them to the local SPCA. They expect me to drop $300 - $500 to fix all these cats because my neighbor doesn't want to deal with it.
A buddy does have a live trap I could borrow. I can either catch them and go drop them off out in the middle of nowhere (like the article says), or I could just put a few cans of Friskies out with a little bit of antifreeze in it, and it'll solve itself. (Don't worry Meowzer, I'd never do that. Considering I have 3 cats of my own, my wife would feed me antifreeze if I did.)

Get yourself a super soaker and load with amonia water. I've heard nailing cats with that will "encourage" them to stay away. If your a coffee drinker sprinkling the grounds around the yard will supposedly deter them too.

One thing I like about the town I live in is the have the same laws for cats as they do dogs, Leashed and licensed. They also have a "litter fee" of 200.00. The license fee is 132.00 a year for intact animals but if they are fixed it is 12.00.
You don't see many stray animals around here. Holds down the back yard breeders too.
personally I think those laws are a load of crap.

Maybe we just need to get rid of the idiots who don;t understand the importance of spaying/neutering......
why torture the poor innocent animal who has only done what comes natural or needs to do to survive...
(not just cats) there are lots of wild dogs out there too.
AMEN SISTER!

You know how much it costs to deal with the offspring of halfassed breeders, the people who let their animals breed just cause they think puppies and kittens are cute?
