Thanks everyone for being so excited about the ahem LIGHT LOL
We are getting ready to go see our grand-daughter in the hospital, and when we get back Danny will put the clear shield on.....and we will work on getting the light hung....so it will probably be later this evening
This thing weighs a ton....so I am kinda nervous....

*lets not have a bunch of water gushing out of a tank that cracked because of too much weight on it from the light... lol*

Lol. Y'all are too funny.
Lois, make sure it's hung well! Don't want to screw it in and find out there wasn't enough support to hold those puppies up.
He he he

WELL...we are back.....Danny is outside finishing the shield
we are going to use the hangers from the light I have now....they are screwed into studs....so Danny says they will hold it
PLEASE say a prayer......I am very nervous about this whole thing.....it will be a while before it is up....after he is done, we still have to dis-assemble the MH light that is on there now...and figure out how to place the timers......little stuff.....BUT important stuff

Thanks......I am having trouble taking pictures......BUT here is the lights with just blue now...There is a lot of glare from all the other tanks, and I have to play with the camera some more
REMEMBER.....this is the lowest setting.....(bright is amazing though) LOL......

That is pretty bright. Lowest setting means that it'ss running at 10% of maximum power. I'd suggest possibly raising it a bit if it's possible. With those optics the fixture should really be at least 12" above the surface in order to get a good color blending.
How about just the moonlights?

They are only about 4-5" high......so you think I should turn the blues up a bit more?????????/ I'm trying to be careful with the acclimation.....LOL
Moonlights will come on later.....I will get a picture then

Excellent job Danny!!!!!! That acrylic work looks pretty good, and looks like he's been doing it for quite a while......Meowzer it looks very good......I agree with Corey about bumping them up in height, but I'm sure you'll be very pleased with them. I'm curious as well to see the moonlights. Again very neatly done!!!!! See that good things do take time.......

Sorry when I said raise it I was referring to the fixture itself. With that much light I'd say leave everything on low for a day or two before you mess with the intensity too much. I see now harm in dialing in the right amount of balance between the two that looks best to you though.

GOTCHA....we raised it some.....it is now a little over 7" from top......we will leave it like that for now.....The moonlights should be on around 10 my time......I am having trouble with glare also when I take pics

I need to play with some camera settings I think

Sorry not much help here in the camera department. Maybe Sax or Cranberry could help with that.
What do you think of it so far? Thumbs up, thumbs down?

Looks good Meowzer.....Trying to capture the LEDs with a camera isn't easily done.......That's been a long debated topic lately, but gives us a very good idea though.....I'd still like to see a couple UV though!!!!!
