Michael Vick An Eagle???????

Instead of Fly Eagles Fly the new song can be Who Put The Dogs Out. I guess if your not an Eagles fan you're just thankful that your team didn't pick him up.
I watched my team make a lot of mistakes. I know it's about money to them, but as a fan it's about heart. I had the pleasure of watching Brian Dawkins on the field and the sideline. The man was the heart and soul of the team. We'll let him go because of money and younger blood, and bring (imo) a monster on the field. This is a man that had millions of dollars (I won't make 1 million in my lifetime) and instead of doing something good with his money, he chose to pit dogs against each other for enjoyment.

I can't begin to explain to all of you how I feel. Maybe it's because I'm a women. I guess I'm taking the moral high ground. I have watched my team lose games they should have won, our qb lose it during the Super Bowl, watched Terrill Owens play the me show and take our team apart, and still was proud to be an Eagles fan. Not anymore. This one hurts too much.
Sorry for the ramblings.

Vick is probably going to play Tight End, not QB. McNabb's waaaaaay too cocky to be shown up by someone else. Why do you think got rid of Jeff Garcia?!?! HE WAS AWESOME!!!!!

But seriously... Vick is rumored to play TE for the Eagles

what?!?! Vick is like 5'10, 215 pounds. are you crazy? if he lined up at TE, he would probably be paralyzed after the first play.
I think you are talking about rumors that he will play a slot/slash receiver type role.
It would be hilarious to see him line up at TE though. All the anti-Vick people would definitely get a kick out of that the first time he had to square off against Julius Peppers or Jared Allen.

Could be a grand PR stunt. Wait till they play a team with awesome linebackers and put him in at tight end and let him get slaughtered.

Can't imagine seeing Vick in a 3 point stance lining up next to a Tackle,...I would think he will be in the slot, or the backfield.

No, I think I know what I said was exactly what I've heard and read on multiple websites and news channel feeds

then please, post a link, because I don't believe you saw any rumor from a credible source about him playing Tight End. you do realize that most TE are like 6'6, 255 pounds right? there is no way that Vick would last one single game as a TE. not only that, the Eagles have a highly touted TE named Brent Celek that is supposed to be the next upcoming phenom at the position.
more than likely, you saw it mentioned that he would split out in the slot. but again, if you have a rumor of him playing TE, by all means post the link

Thank you for the football lesson and correcting me on what you think I heard and read. Rumors are rumors, whether you believe or not is a different story. Where are your links for the wide receiver position?

Shall I go on? Or is this enough for you? Or are you going to tell me that they aren't credible? If thats the case, then when is any rumor ever credible? I guess that's why they're called rumors...

there are a lot of people to this day that tell you that Bradshaw was overrated. He had an alltime great Defense, starting RB, and starting WR. but Bradshaw himself was never all that great.
BUT, he did get some rings at least. Vick hasn't been close to doing that.
so if you want to say that Vick is Bradshaw without success or likeability, go ahead, I won't argue.
Funny you say Bradshaw was overrated but with him they won 4 super bowls. Without him that off year they did not. So that great defense could only do so much.
Just to polish you up on some history. Bradshaw got hurt and missed the first four games. Guess what their record was when he was out 1-3. Guess How many games in a row they won when he came back? 9. So while that defense was in my mind the greatest ever it still needed some help an immaculate reception and a good offense to win championships.
Anyway. I never said Vick was a good qb. I simply said he was a great player who could do many things. IMo he is still better than about 18 qbs playing right now and about 20 rbs playing right now. He is still an amazing weapon. Philly will love him and so will the USA in do time. We love winners.

Yes, I'm going to tell you that you don't know what you're talking about. I guess you didn't check, but the first two links you gave are the SAME ARTICLE, written by a BLOGGER. a BLOGGER is NOT a credible source. The third link, I was not able to click into so I don't know what it says.
but in the first article, it says Vick may line up "slotted as a tight end". there is such a thing as a TIGHT END, and there is such a thing as a SLOT RECEIVER. but there is no such thing as "slotted as a tight end". yes, sometimes TEs, like Whitten and Gonzalez, lineup in the slot, but lining up in the slot does not make one a "tight end". a "tight end" lines up tight against the offensive line. so unless Vick at some point is going to lineup tight against the tackle and hit a defensive end head on, he is NOT going to be playing tight end. slot receiver? probably. which is what I said all along.

I'm really not going to get into a whole Terry Bradshaw discussion. Bradshaw was good, but he is definitely not a top 15-20 alltime QB. but like we both said, he has rings, which is something that Vick doesn't have so there's really no comparison.
We both agreed that Vick is dangerous with the ball in his hands but not a good QB, so why you keep arguing is beyond me.
he is better than 18 starting QBs and 20 starting RBs? hmm, I call BS on that. I'd like to see your list though of the ones he's better than.

Pontius, I think my issue with your arguments is you are much too black/white (no gray area). With you a QB seems to be either great, or "god awful" (your words). To say someone like Delhomne is "god awful" is a bit silly, you don't start several years in the NFL if you are not capable. Trent Dilfer is certainly in the same boat. Mike Vick won a lot of games for Atlanta (certainly lost a few with bad decisions), but to go 38-28 as a starter in the NFL, you are doing something right. Playing QB in the NFL is tougher than doing anything in any other sport....hands down.

Also Vick wont play qb this season.

So tired hearing ppl say he was overratted.
The guy is a winnin QB. That was on ahalf decent team. He did everything for the team on Offense when they needed it.
Set Qb rushing redcords with ease. Good throwing number. No Brady or Manning, but Good numbers.
Whats overratted about that?
The fact that he can break out of the pocket and gain 8 yrds per play if he wantd?

You have got to be kidding me. Compare Romo's first three year stats to the future hall of famer Peyton Manning or current hall of famer Troy Aikman.
Romo has an average QB rating of 95.5 and a better win loss percentage than manning and Aikman in their first three years. Romo has thrown for over 10,000 yards in just 3 seasons. His interception to touchdown ratio is awesome.
Now with those stats compared for each players first three full season, would you willingliy take Michael Vick over Peyton Manning or Troy Aikman when he played? Seriously, your statement has to be the dumbest football statement I have ever heard.

Your point is flawed (but you are a delusional Cowboy fan
so this is expected), Romo was 26 years old when he started his first game. He had 3 1/2 years of sitting and learning, Vick, Peyton, and Troy didn't have that luxury. A bit different starting as a 22 year old rookie than a 26 year old.
