The flashing light thing still makes me chuckle.
It makes sense. I drive a lot, I see so much stuff its not funny. But never in your wildest nightmare would you ever think a person would jump out in front of you. Nobody is prepared for that. I can totally see why he flashed his lights. We do it to people while they are driving and they react. Im sure he thought the guy would stop or get out of the way. It was obviously way too late for him to hit the brakes.

IDK...when something unexpected happens..or moves in front of me....my first instinct is to hit the brakes

Who else has had the "pleasure" of running over someone?
I hit a girl in a crosswalk. No matter what else happened that makes it my fault. But, this was some gang banger wannabe who was engaging in the slow walk which was a big thing around where I lived. They would walk really slow across the street to purposely block traffic. I was making a left turn from a red light and just didn't notice her still in the lane until the last second. I saw her face go from the sneering "you know best to stop a-hole" to the "OMG He doesn't see me" look of terror. I didn't hit her bad but it was bad enough. Even though I knew she kinda contributed to it that didn't make me feel any less awful about it. I imagine Stallworth will be haunted about that for the rest of his life.

I hate that crap. I do a lot of work in Prince Georges County maryland. Between that county and Inner City baltimore Maryland has one of the highest death rates in the USA.

Left turn from a red light? Anyways, I bet she will never do the "slow walk" again.
If she had weighed 100 pound less I would have missed her butt by 6 inches

I had been stopped at a red light. Light turned green, I waited for a couple of cars to pass from the opposite direction that had also been stopped and then started my turn. Going straight took you into the parking lot of the company where my mom worked. She said I was in good company. In about the 16 years she had been working there she knew of 3 co workers who had been seriously clipped by cars the very same way. Bad mojo in that intersection.

I find this quite an interesting conversation. I would like to have seen him punished longer-say 5 years in prison. But, this is America and there are plenty of Jerry Jonses in the league that will hire anything that they think will help with a win, regardless of their past/current. Just for giggles: Anyone remember a college student who helped beat a teenager almost to death, just for being a different race? He admitted it and still was given his full-ride scholarship and was drafted by the classless Vikings. Anyone remember Randy Moss? You can be a racist thug and make tens of millions, and never say you're sorry. What a great country. Go Vick!

I love how you see it one way and not both. Had the victim showed just a little common sense we wouldnt even be having this conversation. How many times have you just ran into traffic without a care in the world? Im gonna go with never. Beer or no beer you are extremely close minded.
You are taking drunk way out of context. The police let him go that night. He went home. He obviously wasnt "drunk".
"After a night of drinking at a bar in Miami Beach's Fountainebleau hotel, police said Stallworth hit the 59-year-old Reyes, a Miami construction worker, who was rushing to catch a bus after finishing work at about 7:15 a.m. Stallworth told police he flashed his lights in an attempt to warn Reyes, who was not in a crosswalk.
Stallworth stopped after the crash and reported the accident. Police estimated Stallworth was driving about 50 mph in a 40 mph zone."
From NFL.com
That could have been anybody. Maybe you are in the wrong field if you allow your emotions to make you this close minded.

So.... add speeding to DUI/DWI?
I'll just flash my lights too.
Not emotion, experience. Maybe you need some.
I've spent more time in the bathroom than Obama has in gov't.
Maybe you should read on the effects of alcohol on the brain. You lose reaction time and judgement (flashing lights vs hitting the brakes) long before you a "falling down drunk".
Ultimately it comes down to "when you are a celebrity it is different."

speeding hahahahahahah cause you do the speed limit on every road every time right? 1 mph over is speeding. You cant be serious with that remark. Pot kettle black.
Celebrity nothing, when you are a moron and run in front of speeding cars you dont live to tell about it.
