and u guys can have two hankicheifs and twirl them around but we cant chant? are u gunna ban chanting in the MLB?

the boston bullpen band ur upset with it? its been a long season and they cant have a little fun? are u just taking everying fun out of baseball?
there is a difference between cheering and booing and being downright annoying, obnoxious, and unsportsmanlike. obviously not an issue for you and the rest of the boston fans.
but i did expect more from the boston players. for them to be acting like that when there was still an inning left to be played was pathetic in my opinion.
there used to be standards. i guess that standards still exist, they've justed been lowered.

I suppose you don't want the Braves to be able to do the Tomahawk Chop, either?
What about the Angels and those stupid Thundersticks?
What about Stadiums where they're constantly playing annoying noises over the loudspeaker?
Come on... if you want to find something to hate about the Red Sox, you're going to find it, but that stuff is just part of baseball. It has been for as long as I can remember, and always will be.

apparently i'm the only one able to draw the distinction between fun things like tomahawk chops, cheering, etc and an annoying chant directed at one particular player. i'm sure that none of the players would have a problem with a tomahawk chop, but i'll bet they are annoyed with having their name chanted out sarcastically for 5 innings straight.
hope you guys don't have kids and are teaching this to them. wonder if you'd have a problem if you had a kid in little league and the other team was constantly chanting your kid's name like that?
or maybe that would be okay too?

You know..... These guys are highly paid athletes, NOT little kids.
If they can't handle chants and razzing from fans, they need to get out of the game.
How is that any different than teams that boo players every time they come on the field or their name is called by the announcer. Fans razzing players is, and has ALWAYS been, part of baseball.
You act like Sox fans are the only fans that do this..... if that's what you think, you are SADLY mistaken.

IMHO chanting his name like they did is just another version of " we want a picher not a belly icher" just part of the game to keep your team sprit up

When I used to play ball they used to put coins in cans and tape the tops closed and shake it to make noise without losing their voice.I do agree it been in sports so long it will never change.

My 6 year old played T-ball the last 2 years, and we played teams from one park where the coaches were teaching the 5 & 6 year old boys to chatter at the batter......
