MORE PROBLEMS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

WELL......On my Current Outer Orbit...it seems one of the T5's is not working
this light has 3 250W metal halides and 8 T5HO.....2 T5's sit in each section.....
I know this so far:
not the ballast....cause the other light works (I know from a previous issue if it was the ballast both bulbs would not work)
Not the bulb.....cause it works in the other holder
SOOOOO...I am thinking it is the little plastic part the light clicks into
SIGHHHHHHHH....So tmorrow I will be calling Current and finding out about spare parts
WHAT'S NEXT???????

Did you check the connections (the little plastic clips) you talked about for corrosion or bent or missing pin?

It seems the little plastic ear that holds the little socket thingy in place is broke, therefore it is making the thing move and it is not connecting good
I am gonna order more of the little white thingy's tomorrow (I hope) last time I had a problem I bought an extra ballast....LOL.....didn't buy any of these ear things

At least one light works out of the 2

You would think you could get those at an electrical supply store, but you in the boonies right.

Well it's good to know other people use terms like "the little plastic ear that holds the little socket thingy" I hope they sell those things, you might have to include a picture so they will know what you are talking about. That's what I do.

LOL....they will know Flower.....and I bet they can tell me the proper name too


I bet it isn't half as interesting as what you called them...If I had a hardware store, I would call it..Little plastic thingys and hicky majigs.

Well it definately sounds like you're looking for a socket replacement. That's what the little plastic dumaflache thingys are.

OMG this is so frustrating.....apparently all the places that sell replacement parts are in CALIFORNIA....and apparently CALIFORNIA is STILL ASLEEP

Finally after going thru a bunch of CC statements I found the place I bought the T5 ballasts.....I just left a message....I'll tell you this.....I am buying more then one pair of socket thingys

I NEED HELP!!!! I have been calling Current all morning, and left messages and also sent an e-mail.....their response was someone will get back to me in 2 days

Does anyone know where I can buy parts for this stupid light?? It is an outer orbit HQI/T5HO
The part # is 1930, which is for a HO Surface Mount Socket/pair
ALSO....Will any T5HO socket work? I SWEAR if and when I find this part I am order 8 sets

Cool Al. I just did a search and they said to contact who you bought the fixture from, since they usually carry replacement parts!!!

meowzer probably bought it on line, you would think an electrical supply store would have the sockets, T5HO is fairly new I guess, wouldn't home depot or lowes have them.

Thanks guys......Shawn, I do not have a pic as it is still on the fixture...lol...
AL, If I don't find anything soon, I will be going to Texarkana TX Friday....The only thing is I would have to take the part off
and if I do.....can I still run the light????
I know you guys know what it is...MY BIG QUESTION IS THIS....It is the little socket that the end of the T5 fits into, and then your turn it to lock the bulb in place...
IF I can buy the same bulb to put in all different light fixtures....will other sockets work?
