Send them to me!!

If you really want to get rid of them is to cut them at the base. You can then trash them, take them to your local lfs, or give them to a local reefer. Of course though, the base will grow back into another mushroom.

so thats the only option is to cut it ... ? and the piece that is cut still is alive and will grow onto another rock if placed somewhere else ??

Do you have any pics? where are you located?
you can take them to you lfs, sell them, trade them, look for reef clubs in your area
or cut them, and place some epoxy on top of the spot. That should suffocate it so it can not grow

Here is a pic of the mushrooms, they have more than quadrupled in size since i got them about a year ago.

so if i clip a few of the tops off and then secure the clipped tops to another small piece of rock, will they eventually attach themselves?

HEHE! They're pretty!! Look really healthy too! I would recommend finding a local reef club like everyone said. People are always looking some hardy beginner coral!

What does it mean when the mushrooms base is sretched like and the top is like a funnel?
I believe that means it is trying to get closer to the light. Is your tank deep and is the mushroom in a dark spot?

Oh yeah I have one that floated off his rock and decided that on the ground in the back under a rock was the best place to attach and now he stretches out all the time

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure thats normal and nothing to worry about. If its unhappy it'll detatch, float around, and find a new spot to anchor to. But chances are its no biggie and nothing is wrong.

Wow those are actually awesome! I'll trade you some Kenya tree..lol.
Seriously though I have a clown fish that host in a colony of purple spotted mushrooms in my aquarium. He tries to feed them as well just as if it were a anemone.
