I know how you feel
But I just tell myself(and Ive said this before) its for me anyway, but having people give you positive feedback is nice. So sorry to hear about your red slime, increase flow in the area you have it. Also the Maracyn does work but with out increasing flow it wont stay gone. I had the same problem in the 10gal. Good luck with the slime and fragging the favia stop by everyonce in awhile, so I dont go crazy like you
.(oh and Im crazy just not like you
) Later

Flow was never a prob. for me, in fact I have soooo much flow some of my corals wont even open up!!! I am always re-arranging the p/hs so It dont blow them around too much

Its just that cyano usually starts in areas of low flow. Have you checked your phosphate lvls yet? Hopfully it wont go crazy like in my 10 gal, 1 day nothing the next half the tank was covered
! Good luck I know what battling this stuff is like!

No i have not, i have been putting that off...don't know why
just have. Today I will check it, everyone says about the flow, but mine started in a area where it was blowing in the breeze
I mean it was waving at me. That's what I don't get about the "low flow" theory. My flow has been the same since day 1. I did re-direct the p/hs just for the heck of it. Tank looks better today then yesterday so maybe I am making some head way . Hope it stays like that!!! i know it can go away and then come back!!!

O hello there, nice of you to stop by, I have decided to treat the tank with Maracyn for my small red algae problem. I guess this is a good treatment for fungus and that makes it good for this. I got that info after days of reading and talking to a friend who is in the business and said he has been using it successfully for over 20yrs, so I thought what the heck, give it I shot. I will let you and me know how it turns out...thank you Mark nice talkin to ya, nice talkin to you to, say Hi to the wife and kids!

hahaha its not you bud. Times have changed is all. I used to be able to post even crappy pictures of corals and tanks and they would turn into 20 page threads. Now you have to post something REALLY special to get any attention on it. The hobby is growing like mad and everyone is getting involved which means tanks are getting better and better. Unless it is a HUGE tank and or exceptionally beautiful it will get looked over most of the time.

Are you talking to yourself and answering yourself as well? I heard if you do that, then you might need to see a doctor. LOL. But hey i have posted tons of pics and no one hardly comments on em so i know how you feel. I got a new coral and posted new pics of it on my aquapod thread and posted tons of new pics on my jbj nano thread. Gota couple sexy shrimp also this week. Those things are awesome. They like host little corals its cool to watch em.

I want first dibs on the blastos. All my lfs has are dull looking colored ones but i am sure you would hook me up since we like bros and all on this forum. HAHAHA. I wanna check out some of your other things though. Maybe a frogspawn for my jbj nano. I have one in my aquapod that i could probably frag off or just split into half cuz its like two seperate branches but i dunno how all that works with those corals so i leave it alone. Is probably 10 differents heads now when i got was only like 3 :) But still only 2 branches. Know how that works ? LOL Do new branches grow or what ?

they are hard to frag if they don't have separate branches, if you have to cut any flesh they will more than likely die. Hey this has been fun going back and forth tonite, but its like 12:30 here and I gotta get up at 6:30am so I gotta fly bro..Have a good one !!! This is becoming our private forum here huh?
Hey I have a really nice torch for sale if you want one let me know!

Thanks,
the torch is for sale, 70.00 for both heads or 40.00 per, yea that is Goniopora, nice color. I was going to sell it also but I kinda like it! I may put it in the 24gal. I just need to make room for it.

The goniopora have a bad survivability in captivity most only last 1 year
. I really like them though and thought about getting one till I heard that. Good luck with it!

Well I ordered a new light for the frag tank , I really think this MH was too much light for this tank. It seems all the coral in this tank are not growing and my zoa's hardly ever come out. I put them in my 24gal nano with CFL lights and 2days later they are out more then with the MH
I even started a thread hear asking for opinions but didn't really get any responses. It seemed the dumb "what I did on vacation" threads here get more response then those about reef fish tanks
Any way I ordered a Nova extreme T5 ho light , it has slimpaq 460nm and 10000 k bulbs . I read allot about the T5's and I think they will do a better job on my tank then the MH. IF anybody cares I will post pic's and the results when I get the light, hopefully Wednesday. If not I know you all are probably busy on those " i got a new puppy' threads
