Was your old tank 30" deep also? Do you feel the 250 watt MH bulbs are powerful enough for 30" tanks?? It looks great so they must be ok. How are the LED's working out for you?

I should have asked this earlier too. I trying to decide between the 24" and 30" tall tank right now. Pros and cons to the 30" tank? Are they easy to reach down in there to do maintenance?

Yeah it's tough to grab or clean the tank I am only 5'10" so I have to get a ladder to clean the tank up
3 level stool can't cut it.since it's about 6'+ from the ground
Anyway
I pick more large acropora colonies and couple red planet mini colonies and frags. Also a very bright setosa mini colonies as a trade for my mother of pearl tiny frags. And I sold my skimmer to be replaced with more Energy efficient Reeflo orca pro with dart gold it's less than 40 watts with 3 pumps running and 100+ watts if all of the pumps are running.hopefully I can keep a xenia now.

I get rid of my skimmer and now treating my tank with herbtana and it looks like the corals are unaffected by it and the fishes are doing good
My skimmer will be here Wednesday and I also will have solar panel installed in 7 weeks .

So after 5 days of herbtana no casualty and the fish looks good except the pair of clown fish still have spot but I am planning to catch them soon to go back to copper qt again .
my new skimmer went wild after I turn on and remove 12 gallons of water because of the treatment.
I will use herbtana again later on I just have too much corals at risk if I use the herbtana for 10 without skimmer.
On a good note i have new montipora acquisition
Jedi mind trick monti
Rainbow monti
True superman monti
Sunset monti
Vivid chili peppers monti
Pink Cadillac monti
And pokerstar monti
After last soft corals acquisition that will be it for me
No fish no more corals for and while

I love my LEDs and metal halide combo but I am trying to save some more electricity since I am getting a solar panel installed soon to make my electric bill less than 100 bucks a month. I already replace my energy hog of a skimmer to Reeflo orca pro with dart gold pump that use only 148 watts compare to 205 watts while running only 3 pumps And 290 watts if I run all 4 on my oldskimmer but it's uses 2.2 amps each so 8.8 Amps total compared to 1.4 amps with the new skimmer
Anyways the Metal halide produce heat that keeps my tank warm during the winter that keep me away from getting a heater and i think acropora grow better under metal halide
The LEDs produce amazing colors and it saves more than half energy than the MH but it is still unproven to grow acropora and the coverage are too sharp.
My question are, will It bleached out my acropora under the 2 metal halide when I switch and run all LEDs during the warm month and will my acropora grows under all LEDs ?
TIA

All of my SPS are growing well.
But I can't keep Xenia ever since and all of my neon green leather finger are shrinking and most likely slowly die like the one before.
I feed really heavy 40 cc -50 cc per day before and about 20 ml now that my bioload is significantly less but I used to have a skimmer rated for 1200 Gallon so I downsized to reef orca 250 pro with dart gold and still can't keep them more than a week.I start growing algae and my nitrate was 5 ppm couple of days ago I thought my soft corals are finally start growing, I was wrong.
Also marco algae died in the tank too.
I Also have mushroom, colt and kenya tree and toadstool leather too but it's not growing but it's alive.
Any thought?
