Thanks again all.
Some nice thoughts and suggestions. That pic of that tank is really nice. Is it a 75?
I probably will not look to clean the back of my tank as I want as much algae as I can get. I really want my rocks to be healthy and I would assume that the incremental algae would be beneficial.
So with that said I guess I could do a CLS that would be hidden without drilling. You would just have to get the intake deep in the tank. I had someone suggest that I take the return and run PVC around the top of the tank, drill small ports and have more current around the tank that way. Not sure if several smaller ports would be good or if 2 big flows banging into my 1200's would be better.
Thanks again for all the help. You guys are great.

Sorry its been a while since my last post. I did not throw myself off a bridge. I have bought a couple of items since the last post. I got my lights and installed them, went with the T-5s and used a retro kit. I have 4 bulbs that will drive to 85 watts per. Later I will add 2 more. I also bought a Reefkeeper Elite Controller. I went a head and got the Moon light module as well as the Light module. I also bought an auto top off system for it. Lets see I have LED moonlights coming and I got them in Blue. Oh yea! I got a Typhoon III Extreme RODI unit. I will try to set it up this weekend. I hope to get some water in the tank this weekend and then and just maybe I can order my Live Rock. Ill get some pics up soon. Oh I did get my doors and I have to stain them and get them on. Its getting pretty exciting here or at least for me it is. Will probably have about 2 months before a full cycle will take place then come creatures can go in.

Not much really to look at as far as pics that would impress. I could show some pics of the light on and how I mounted it in the canopy. I tell you what I will take some pics and put up. I hope that next week will allow for some good advancements. I do have to go out of town next weekend but when I get back maybe it will be time to get the Live Rock. Keep a look out I may post those pics tonight.
Thanks for the compliments and interest in my build. I hope to have as much success that others are having. Its expensive but fun.

Thanks spanko.
Gonna take off the next couple of days and try to get some stuff going on the tank. First I have to paint the back glass. Going with black. Bad news for me is I have to do it in the house as I cant hardly move the tank by myself. I plan on making a plastic "paint booth" to keep it under control. Next I am going to start staining the doors and getting them ready for finish. While thats drying I am going to hook up the RODI unit. Still aint done that. Then and if all is going well I want to start putting some water in the tank. Thats saying that the paint on the glass is dry. Should be a fun day tomorrow.

I like that. You are making some good progress. I hope you can get water in there, then the side of your face will start to twitch as the dream will be one step closer.

HMMM...I have black on all mine....I just like it better...LOL

This has to be the best reason ever to convince someone to make a decesion.

Seriously I saw some tanks with black and the colors seem to POP more than with the blue. I would imagine that someone could make the argument the other way but this is what I did.
Ready for another update. A lot of progress being made today. Well considering how slow its been.
DONT TRY THIS AT HOME! Well you can try it at home but be careful. I wore goggles and a respirator to help keep from killing myself.

Here is some pics of the inside the house "paint booth". I didnt have any help to move it outside and it has been raining so why wait I say?

Next here is my Typhoon Extreme III hard at work finally producing some of that clean water.

I know you need a picture of the RODI water dont you.

Glad I went with the 150 gpd. It takes a while to make water

Big day today. Well not for most of you but for me its a big step in a long direction. Water went in the tank today. I also received my Digital Aquatics Elite control system.
Here is a picture of the magical moment

and another

I cranked the tank up but was short a gallon or 2 and the pump was gonna suck air so I had to shut her down. I am making a couple more gallons and will let her rip again a little later. I know I am really excited of water.
I can't imagine how it will be when I get to finally put the first critters in. Dont worry I will stay on this slow pace but cant help but look ahead. I will probably post some pics of the controller next week when we get back. Going out of town for a day or 2.

Ok I am back and have been working on a couple of things. First I decided to make a side table/cabinet for the electronics and my books. I put the cabinet together this afternoon as it was a simple build and will probably finishing sanding and staining tomorrow. The other thing that has me perplexed is this dang tank is making a lot of noise.
Here it goes. Its an Aqueon with a Mega Flow. I had the down pipe ran straight down to begin with. I had a ball valve and a pipe attached. This all looked nice but when it started up with a cycling of gurggle gurggle whoosh whoosh I knew I had an issue. After reading I saw some postings that I shouldn't run the pipe straight down so I put some elbows in it. Now it goes gurggle gurggle whoosh whoosh. The only thing that tames this is to slow down the output on the return pump and also close off the ball valve some on the drain. If I balance it right it does ok but I still get a tremendous amount of air in the drain. I don't think this is working correctly. I have also see a couple of issues in the sump. I think I need to modify the design as it encourages water to crash down to the next level and this is causing some serious bubbles. I have not put salt in the tank yet. Could this improve the situation once its added? Will a more dense solution run better. One would think so. Well I am heating the water now and plan on adding salt tomorrow to see what happens. Hopefully someone will have an idea or fix for me. Thanks in advance!

Ok after a lot of research and a visit to the LFS I am not certain if I have a solution for the noise or not. I do have another idea handed to me and it may work. I will update after I try.
The other news is its now a saltwater tank!
Last but not least here are a couple of pictures of my bookcase / electronics / end table. Front and back view.
