What great pics Keri. I don't think I could contain myself if my clowns did that! Don't ya wish our tanks were mature enough to allow some, even one, to survive without any intervention by us?
Well done Keri!!!!

So the eggs dissapeared on night 7 (hatched and eaten I'm assuming) and now, a couple of days later there are MORE than ever! Is this going to keep happening over and over? Is it ok for the fish?

I like to use the cheapest white ceramic tile that you would put on your bathroom wall. I mostly use 6x6 tiles but a few of may pairs only have room for a 2x 3 tile.
below is a pic of one of my pairs and part of their tile

Awesome! Thanks I will get one. Your clowns are GORGEOUS!! I Love the true percs!!

Its awesome to see them spawning... Im curious... Keri, how long were your 2 fish a "pair" before they mated? I have 2 that are paired, share the same anemone, there is clearly a male and female and they have been paired for about 5 months. Just curious how long yours took from pairing to spawning. Thanks.
I bought them in January I think not really as a pair, just the last two left in a tank together - didn't look like they had been fighting. They were pretty small. So... January - late november. My clowns are quite simmilar in size, both pretty big, the male only a little smaller. He actually started off as the bigger one. I don't know if this is normal? Definately one of each --- tho as the eggs were fertile.

I WISH!! I keep crossing my fingers, it happens in my freshwater tank with my barbs but I doubt it will with these :(
I'd really like to raise the fry and contribute to the captive-bred fish out there if I can figure out the rotifer thing.

I am no expert, in the same shoes as you, except that my 2 local LFS have live rotifers, so I am trying to raise the fry. From what I understand the fish will keep laying eggs about every two weeks as long as they are healthy. I believe that the more this goes on the more eggs that are laid, so it seems in both our case witht he second batch compaired to the first. The male will get better at fertilizing the eggs leading to more fry. I am pretty sure that it is perfectly OK for the fish, as they will opnly do this if they are kept feed well and happy in their environment. You can check out my post in this forum with day by day details and questions, but I don't have the AWESOME
pictures you do.

Yes, you should see a new batch of eggs about every 14 days, and it will continue.. they will take an occasional break IME, but always start back up.

Thanks!. I have raised a few thousand. That pair has even developed their on name/variant of true percs. Its not a name that I quoined but another hobbyist on -- named them Rod onyx, and it has stuck. The clownfish forum on -- has a few threads, and one of them is HUGE. It has a lot of pics from people that recieved my babies.
rotifer.com is a good place to learn about culturing rotifers. The instruction sheet that they send if you purchase from them is even more helpful than the site.
Good Luck

Keri, great pics. What kind of camera do you use? I can not get a good pic of my eggs. They show up as dark dots if they even show up in a pic. Your pictures are great. Your male seems to have gotten better at fertilizing. I will be transfering my second batch today. Only half of what you have there from the looks of things.

It's a Nikon D40 (that I totally don't know how to use....one of these days I'll read the manual!)
