My encounter with SWF.Com
I am lucky enough to have 5 saltwater/coral stores within a ½ hr drive from my home. With that luxury I have no need to order online. The fact that I like to “see what I get” and the high price of overnight shipping are my two main reasons for not doing so.
When the “no shipping fee to Florida “was brought to my attention I decided to give the livestock a look. I have wanted a jewel damsel for my mantis tank and when SWF had one available I decided to give them a try. Having placed my order and checking out i realized shipping fees were factored in. I retried to order several times with the same result. I sent a pm to Scott from SWF as well as posted my problem on the boards. Within 5 minutes Scott send me a message stating I should give him my sign on name and he would check it on his end. 15 minutes later I received another pm from Scott telling me he was having the same trouble using my sign on name and that I should order anyway and add a note to SWF that no shipping charges should apply as per his instructions and he would personally see I was reimbursed for shipping. He would also forward the issue to technical support.
Knowing the best laid plans EST. I decided to cancel my order. As I was removing my order I realized that now the shipping charges were removed. It may have been a lag in the modern technology we deal with today or the technical support but more likely Scott’s involvement. All in all I had an issue and within 1 hr it was resolved. I must say in relation to my first experience with buying live stock from SWF WELL DONE.

rofl.. I just made a similar post in the new to saltwater section.
There are pros and cons to dealing with both LFS's and online dealers. I'll say that some of the bigger pros to dealing with swf.com is the long guarantee that LFS's don't seem to offer and the 'rewards' system that offers you freebies.
Now that swf.com is doing 'eye it/buy it', it's almost like dealing with a LFS.

I had a 4/7 tentative date for my first order from SWF> i decided to give them a call and see if in fact i was going to receive shipment on wed. i left a message and within 2 hrs i received a call saying i was .
I will update my experience as it unfolds

YUP...as long as the order in not in the processing stage, you go into the order, and add it into the NOTES section at the bottom of the screen

i placed the order an hour ago and when i go back to it there is no place for notes

I don't have an open order to look at.....when you look at your order you should be able to click on the order #....there should be a message section.....

I find that all things consider customer support it the deciding factor in getting my business. To that point I can only relate my personal experience. I placed a call to swf this morning regarding my second order (I left a message). Within approximately one hour I received a follow up call from a friendly, courteous, and VERY knowledgeable lady named Kim ( please forgive me if I have mistaken the name , I am terrible with names)IMO this was the gold standard for customer service. Once again I can only state my own experience take it for what it’s worth
