My family needs your prayers please

Once the dialysis begins, (basically a substitute for his kidneys) his blood pressure will get better (less fluid to push around because the dialysis will get rid of it), the water weight will start to come off, his heart function will improve (again, less fluid to push around in the blood stream) and he'll generally feel better. Insulin will maintain his diabetes, but diabetes is a tough disease for the kidneys and the nervous system--the neuropathies in the feet, etc.
Dialysis causes some electrolyte imbalances, so I'm sure they'll be watching that....he'll most likely be given a LOT of supplements to take....

Yes...Im not going to go into it, but over this last year I have been dealing with some family struggles and the prayers are what helped us to survive everything. The power of prayer is VERY strong.

My friends, thanks so much for the prayers and well wishes. The tough old bird is doing alot better. They drained 12-15 POUNDS of water out today. He looks so much better, not as swollen and or puffy. he can breath easier now so that helps. The goal is to get another 15 pounds of water out by the end of this weekend and take it from there. His blood pressure was alot better today and was down to 170/85 or so. better than the 200 yesterday.

His progress has slowed. They want to see another 12-15 lbs. loss and he lost 2 today. That means atleast 2-3 more days in the hospital. He tricked them on his diet and was getting all the wrong foods which is bad. NOW we talked to the correct people and they are watching his diet more closely. 71 years of bad eating habits cannot be broke over night.

All you can do is watch him and love him. We don't understand imbalances most of the time and they are total hell on the ones that are affected. Good luck my friend. You are doing all you can. if something bad does happen IT IS NOT your fault.
