Ok, today's update: Total loss of 24 lbs. They did a biopsy on the livers today. They have to send the samples off to UCLA so he will spend the weekend in the hospital again and then they want to start dialysis (sp) soon. He feels so much better and looks great too. Just getting bored in the hospital. Ha! The family really appreciates the prayers and kindness ya'll been showing. Thanks so much. Barry

I also wanted to thank all that have thought about my family or prayed. Dad is doing well. He lost a total of 53 lbs. Mostly water weight as most diabetics battle with. He is on dialysis now 3 days a week for 5 hours each time. It does not make him sick anymore and man does he look and feel better. But again, thanks to all for the responses. Barry

YAY! Reminds me of my grandpa we just found out today that chemo has shrunk his tumor in his lungs!!! it's been a tough year. We were told he only had a year to live and he has been terribly sick from the chemo. Today is a good day for both of our families… you guys will be in my thoughts.

glad to hear he is getting better. Dialysis is tough, but it is what their body needs. Praying that he is on the mend.

Prayer is wonderful; and Modern Medicine is miraculous. Have you ever watched a dialysis? It's the most incredible thing to watch a patient's blood leave their body, travel through a filtration system, and then flow back from whence it came. It is a truly "awesome" gift.
SO glad to hear your Dad is improving, Mayor - we will be thinking of him!
And glad to hear about your Grandfather, DeMartini!

blessedyo revived the old thread.
Just as an update;
My family really do appreciate you all keeping us in your prayers.
Dad is getting on the transplant list last of this month and they are going to move his "dyalisis (sp) port out of his neck and chest and put one in his arm.
3 days a week for 5 hours each time he goes in for treatments and is doing VERY well with those.
He lost 60 lbs. while in the hospital and has gained about 5 back since Thanksgiving.
