I hate to hear it. Windex is primarily ammonia. Amquel would have mitigated most of the danger and if you're running carbon, that would have cleaned up most of the detergents. I feel bad for you.

It does sound like this was vindictive. I worked with a guy who had several FW tanks, he was going through a divorce. Said he came home one day and the wife was gone. She took all her stuff and poured bleach in all his tanks.....
I can see someone getting angry and even destroying something, but not killing innocent critters because of it. Thats ignorant and just plain evil. If she did do this, you are better off to not have her anymore.....
