my girlfreind dropped a bottle of windex in my tank

I hate to hear it. Windex is primarily ammonia. Amquel would have mitigated most of the danger and if you're running carbon, that would have cleaned up most of the detergents. I feel bad for you.

It does sound like this was vindictive. I worked with a guy who had several FW tanks, he was going through a divorce. Said he came home one day and the wife was gone. She took all her stuff and poured bleach in all his tanks.....
I can see someone getting angry and even destroying something, but not killing innocent critters because of it. Thats ignorant and just plain evil. If
she did do this, you are better off to not have her anymore.....

That is why I will never get married. I have heard of too many stories of ex wifes getting, pool tables, cars, hairlooms, and money in a divorce. Its bad.

Well, I can tell you what walmart does have- some rope to tie your gf up the next time you have to leave the house and leave her there unattended!

Just another reason for canopies

Sucks to hear. Stopping and taking a step or two back, I'm really wondering why she did everything though. I mean Windex bottles are spray-mist bottles. If she dropped the bottle in there, the only windex to actually get into the tank, at best, would have been just some residue on the bottle itself, since the spray pump isn't open, most of the windex couldn't have gotten much, if anything into the tank.

This is exactly what I was thinking

It is painfully ironic when simple freshwater is a more certain death than the bottle of cleanser.

All I can say is that if you would actually wonder if she did it on purpose? Man, out on the curb asap. Anyone who could take out anger on innocent things - even fish - is pretty sick and I would never want to go any further in that relationship.
