My Lionfish Tattoo! :)

I've had this completed for almost a year now, but I've never gotten around to sharing it with you folks.

Obviously, I let my tattoo artist take some creative liberty. This was done in three sittings. It's the start of a ocean-themed half sleeve; I'm trying to stick to Red Sea species. I'm not exactly rolling in dough right now, so this will probably take years to complete. But, such is life.

Thanks, Mimzy! His name is Joel Donnigan, and he's located in little ol' Medford, Oregon. I used to live there. Now I have to drive four hours if I want to get work done. :/
Kevin, looks good. :) How many hours do you have going there? I started planning my tattoos when I was 14, so I've had lots of time to pick a theme!
Thanks Laurie!

...since we're all sharing, I guess I'll post mine.
This is only after the 2nd sitting, and there are at least 2-3more to go. I got it after I quit my job as a vet-tech and started my own cake design firm. There is MUCH more that's going to be there when it's finished, but it's probably going to be a while.... we are buying a house atm.

Nice Ink...
here is my tattoo...it is a kio fish transforming into a dragon(chinese mythology)...i combined two things i have interest in...fish and dragons...its not fully completed yet...there will still be a cloud of water around the fish and all the fins and scales need to be completed...the last pic is a close up of the eye...BTW...this was about 15 min. after it was done...so please ignore the small blood spots in the 3rd pic...
also...the small water splashes at the bottem of the tattoo are my wife and i initials...J for my first name...M for her first name...and a bigger R for our last name...
EDIT...this is on the back of my calf...

nothing wrong with tattoos IMO...if you have a job where they need to be covered up then get them where they can be....so youre in NJ?
it is funny the perception of people and people with tattoos...when i was in australia i was sitting at a table in a bar and people avoided me..a person not showing any tattoos sat down at the same table and they talked and talked..lol just reminds me of why i have minimal friends and people i talk to

BBwolf- we hit these topics just recently and you would be further supprised at how even online people say that they look right past them. How they treat the tattoo'd same as everyone else.
Rediculous

it's a cover-up of an old tattoo that was a disaster. the artist didn't listen to me, and i didn't think long and hard enough about what i wanted in the 1st place.
as for what other people think, just the fact that i have this is going to get me, shall we say, "excommunicated" from my family and their community if anyone ever finds out. that's why it's on my hip - an easily concealable area. i want tattoos on my wrists, the arches of my feet, my back, and on my arms, but i will probably never be able to do that.

guess i should have clarified, whether i had them or not, if i had a dentist that had them it wouldnt phase me......but then again a dentist doesnt phase me no matter if i need a tooth drilled or what, until i have to pay them then id like them to KMA

im in the same boat with my grandmother, she finally saw the wolf after who knows how many years...she asked is that the only one i said no..the look was priceless....shes a "godly" person, i wanted to say how many times have you talked smack about someone? im sure her expression would have changed
if you must know, i have no respect for her because of that so what she thinks is what she thinks, no skin off my back

right... but...aside from their obnoxious religious views, i happen to really love my family. And they are very good to me, too. i can't alienate myself from them completely just for the sake of some ink. i can get as much as i want, as long as they can't see it, and that works for me at this point in my life.
it sucks that things have to be this way, but it is what it is.
