My new 210 starfire journal

We finally have the home situation figured out, we're not moving and so I can finalize my new display tank and fragging operation. For several months I was in limbo as I had no idea where we were going to be living, kinda hard to have a frag tank..LOL
This is going to be a major project as we've decided to redo our formal living room and make it into a "tank viewing" room, we've always kinda hated this room as it was usless, not anymore...I'm such a reef weasel....
First project is that we're ripping up all the carpet and installing engineered hardwood (installing myself saving -2k) I ordered the wood yesterday, it'll take about 7 days to arrive and maybe a day to install, I just purchased a rotozip so that I can cut the baseboards and have the wood flooring fit underneath the baseboards as it will also have to match up with the tile in the hallways. I also have to paint the wall that the tank is going to sit against. All the furniture in the room is being donated to goodwill and we're buying 2 really huge wingbacked chairs to put in front of the tank.
This is going to be a mixed softie & heavy LPS tank, much like my 125g that I have now, a lot more zoas and micros...
Oceanic 215 ultimate starfire tank

Still trying to figure out which stand to purchase, I really like the All-Glass Classic mission, just not sure about the colors
lighting is 3x250 phoenix with 4x96 actinics
MRC reactor and kalk stirrer
Neptune JR controller
Still thinking about protein skimmers
Autotop off from my existing 75g
I'm going to build the fuge myself
500lb of LR that I just ordered. it's going to take me some time to configure the LR, as I'm going to drill it and use plexiglas rods to create interesting cave and ledges.
I'll post pics of the room before construction a little later

This is the inspiration for what the tank is going to look like. I posted these pics in the photography section, i'm not much of a spammer, but thought this would show members the direction that I'm going with this tank. This is my nano and I'm so freakin in love with the way it looks that I want the new tank to look the same. This is going to be a long project, hopefully I won't go broke before it's done.... I seriously went back and forth over just getting an All-Glass mega flow tank vs the Oceanic starfire, about 1k diff in price, but I want the colors to POP and since I'm so obsessed with photography now, this is the only way I can go......

Oh dear lord that tank is nuts. If you plan on putting the much coral in your 210 I feel sorry for your wallet
. But IMO startfire is such a great thing to have especially in a reef like yours. Well worth it.

Cherry wood, with black back. I went black on black as we did a movie room with coke theme and red leather custom theater seats from Ashley. But would have done cherry any where else.

My leather recliners arrived lastnight. Wood flooring is supposed to arrive on Thu, then carpet gets ripped out. The complete tank system was ordered today and should arrive Tomorrow or Thur, won't be able to install the tank untill the flooring is down....Still need to pain an accent wall and get the rest of the room accessories, this is going to be a total room for watching the tank, it will serve no other purpose.

I'm going with a softie - LPS tank there will be some SPS but not much.....I'm serious about making it look like my nano. The rockwork is going to be insane, i've been hoarding some ultra cool LR pieces....this is killing me, I wana start on the tank now.......argh.....
