okay let me give you my 2 cents..i have had NOTHING but dodge i had a 600 wheel hp daily driven NEON! i have had 3 turbo neons, and my family as total 12..and an srt-4 
SOON here i will have my new srt-8 jeep which OWNS anything ford or chevy can throw at it STOCK. as of now and even back in the day, dodge owned. was any chevy motor banned from a track? nope! but the hemi was and for a reason. right now dodge has the fastest factory truck,SUV, fastest car under $25,000, and hands down the viper toasts the corvette. even though, the new vette is designed by 9 of the 13 people who designed dodges viper. it looks just like the viper except slower
i made over 300 wheel hp on my stock neon motor/clutch and the motor was still in factory specs when i ripped it apart to build it. and it had 100k miles on it dodge hands down for american cars now days..i worked at a GM dealer and they are piles..anyone who can keep 30 mechanics employed ALL day everyday shows that your cars have gone down hill. dodges SRT line hands down dominates. fastest 4 cylinder and with the most potential off the floor, fastest v8 "srt8 charger,300c,jeep"6.1 ltr hemi, and fastest truck with the viper V10. so buy that challenger , its a sick car my fiances GM is a pile i have sunk more money to that in 2 yrs then all 10 of my dodges together..x5 easily. which is why it is going away for my 2nd jeep, the srt-8 . look up that if you want to be impressed. videos of it.

I support American made products although a lot of our stuff is outsourced its still in Kansas city and it still pays my american grandfathers pension. Plus I like american muscle cars look at them thru the years a jap or german car can neverCOMPARE looks with AN american Muscle car. IMO.

This has to be one of the most blind and idiotic comments made on cars in this board. Any Japanese car will outhandle the SRT-4 and SRT8
How does then make any sense? Yea that Corolla with 165 series tires sure puts up those skidpad numbers.
Wait, you said "same HP," alright, number some japanese cars that made over 400hp? Oh wait, there's only one (the GT-R) and it's not even for sale yet, and costs twice the SRT-8 or three times an SRT-4 and you can't even use it at a racetrack (research the Nissan warranty limits).
Or you want handling, name a Japanese car for sale that pulls over 1g in the skidpad? I can name at least two Corvettes that do

well let me say, my neon has never popped and i BEAT that car. im not against imports in any way being that i just about purchased a mazda rx-8 a few weeks ago and when i had my neon, my buddy also had the same setup on his civic hatch that we made 758 wheel hp with and ran 10.40's all day long at the track. as far as AMERICAN cars go, dodge takes the cake. srt-4's can handle pretty good let me tell you, more important then the car is the driver. i have driven ad race alot of cars my buddies all have srt-4's,wrx's, evo's etc,lightnings, to old chevelles and mustangs. its a a gaint battle that will never end between american muscle vs the new age of cars that really boils down to personal preference. but for a STOCK vehicle, the srt line up dominates. my buddy an hour away has a 600 whp supra , one that moved to florida has the same. sick cars!! but i will take my jeep..its a sleeper, no one will expect it out of a jeep..why the hell do you think i drove a neon? is anyone scared to race a neon? NOPE and how many people did i shut down and embarasse, i gained respect out of it. i never lost with my 98 neon but i made alot of friends.mostly muscle car guys. that jeep has balls though do some research. it is no AUTOCROSS machine but for a drag vehicle it will be SICK.

Do you have any links for the engineers stat?
Sorry but no way, shape, or form will any new Viper outperfom the new ZR1 Corvette. Again sorry, but our V-series cars will walk all over the SRT-8s.

I love Jeep own one myself. I will rip apart any 4x4 pickup with it climbing hoppin eggs but the are no speed demon lol... I do have a uncle with a jet power dune buggy i'll put up against most anything here. it has to be a very long straight as it takes a LONG LONG tie to get it slowed down. He took me for a ride in it and 80 throttled it a bit and we did about a mile long wheelie and made me wanna put on a new pair of pants....
I used to be into all that stuff I'm old now and I top out in my car around 100 and on my bike around 110 plenty fast enough for me..
I used to own a 81 Camero tubbed lightened 400 stroker 40 Pound bottle of the NOS I was beaten twice once by a nova and once by a pos looking maverick it was so nasty but wow it was fast.

I have driven a viper and owned a few vettes ill take a vette over the viper but that is just me. My sister just sold her vette she had since she was 16 she is now close to 40.. I remember about 15 years ago or so she dumped 8k into the motor cam etc it was radical. I took it out a lot as my brother in law and I used it to go buy beer ( get there and back in a hurry) but the handling I loved the way it felt over any viper.. She had some extra stuff all the waay around so the motor work was not all done to it but it was a sweet ride.

and still wouldnt have nearly as much into it. gm sucks balls and thats about what i have come up with in the past few years. the cobalt SS was supposed to school the srt-4 also, NEVER happened not even close. personal preference is fine, but facts stick. have you ever been in a viper? driven one? you have NO idea. let alone the twin turbo hennessey.sorry man but the srt line up stock runs faster then vettes. the vettes and gto's run a consisten 13.8 ..my 98 neon with 2 grand into it went 13.1 on a 100 degree day.and srt-4's can pull 13.4's with a decent driver.and the jeeps i have seen down to 12.9's stock. and i just have to mention it even though its not a dodge, my buddies civic hatch was turbocharged, and he beat a supercharged built corvette with a 150 shot and a built bottom end at the track. doesnt say much. i have lost all respect for the vettes after they had that design crew, the viper and vette have always been 2 way different styled cars and now its just a copy..IMO they ruined the vette.and the ford GT, comparing a 1/2 million dollar car to a $35,000 jeep? get real. again the hennessey viper! makes more then that.I have driven a viper and owned a few vettes ill take a vette over the viper but that is just me. My sister just sold her vette she had since she was 16 she is now close to 40.. I remember about 15 years ago or so she dumped 8k into the motor cam etc it was radical. I took it out a lot as my brother in law and I used it to go buy beer ( get there and back in a hurry) but the handling I loved the way it felt over any viper.. She had some extra stuff all the waay around so the motor work was not all done to it but it was a sweet ride.

okay then ill go back on my word and re phrase, put things in the price category then. the jeep is so much cheaper, but is still damn close to what is mentioned put suv's vs eachother, cars vs eachother, etc. read what i posted. dodge has the fastest truck, the fastest SUV,their srt-4 was the fastest car under 20g at one time and still holds that for quite a bit higher price range then that,the srt-8 cars vs pretty much anything in the 35-40g range, the viper alone owns, they have a sick line up, you can knock all you want but just think about it. i would hope a ford gt beats a jeep srt-8, and hell i hope a brand new vette does to! which really it doesnt..unless you buy the best! and if you do that then compare it to the viper. for american car variety dodge is holding their lineup above the rest for what you pay and what it gives.
