I haven't ever looked into cleaner clams.. do you need to do much for them? Do they just clean the water, and that's it? Use up much Ca+?

Looking good. You can take off the long piece for the MJ 900 and switch it with the smaller one.

hefner- the "cleaner clam" is from the grocerie(sp) store its a little neck clam samething. I ate his friends cooked in a little beer and shalot some garlic yummie. As far as I know it just filters the water. I dont know how much calc it uses it hasnt been long enough yet but ill post if its significant.
TriGa22 already did, got that used for $10 all new impeller. Had to buy the shorter one for like $2 for a 2 pack.
coralreffer thanks for the words of encouragement!
Little busy right now so I will post the rest of picks later. Thanks to all

Well had my first fish death. A couple of weeks ago I put my orchid dotty in the tank, figured he would go last because he was very agressive. Not as agressive as someone else unfortunatly. I waited 2 weeks between fish as I added each fish. Everthing was fine (except that the clown is a little too friendly with the blennie) after about 2 days someone had eaten the orchid's tail. He wouldnt let me get him out and seemed to be ok eating and stuff just hidding alot. Sunday the clean up crew was doing their job.
Everyone else is getting along fine no other problems
. Had that fish for over 2 years it killed many snails and hermits, bristleworms, all the pods in the 10 gal. Didnt make it a month in the bigger tank
. I feel bad. Some unexpected pics of him at night below

Tanks looking great!! So many new corals

Sorry about the dottyback. I have a mysterious killer too, although I suspect its my green chromis.
I also have a filamented flasher wrasse, beautiful fish. he replaced a yellowfin flasher wrasse that was one of the mysterious victims.

Yea its a toss up on the culprit, just guessing its the flasher. Although the clown is very aggressive
its just too bad!
My flasher looks like your avatar. Is that a pic of yours?

How did you get your coraline to grow so fast? I have had mine stable for months and don't have nearly what you do. Do you use any kind of additive?

I use an alk buffer and a calc supp. Thats it! I have been told coraline grows better in actinic lighting. My actinics are on for 1.5 hrs before and after my daylights total 11 hrs. I wish it would chill a little, its nuts have to scrape the glass weekly. I will try and get a pic today when the lights come up, its much thicker then the last pics.

That would be great. I only have MH's; however, it's a 250w for a 37 gallon tank. Now that you say that I think it's true. I have a coralife mini over my sump, which has been hooked up for about 1/3 the time of my DT and it has coraline in it.

Yea , I called a friend and he confirmed it. Something about the lights color. I got lost about half way through the explination
. I know my alk and calc is always being used up even before the lps and sps started showing so much growth! He said the coraline will use that too. So in short put a t5 actinic on there and watch your alk and calc, you will be cussing at the coraline soon just like me
.

Thinking about making a 1.5 hr trip to a lfs in the morning. Guess they have some alien eye zoos and blue snake zoos avail. Have to wait and see if I have time. Just skimming the threads needed to type something

Ok so I've been looking into moving my 10g "reef" up into a bigger tank 32g ish.
I came home with...15 Tangs and 2 sharks JK.
I guess this is about posting #99 or so on this thread and I can't believe I'm the first one to ask this.
15 Tangs and all the other stuff you've added along the way in a 32 gallon tank? That's a typo, right? I have six Tangs in a 450 and the way they've grown in less than a year leads me to conclude that I'm pretty well maxed out unless I find a nice Powder Blue or White faced from a hobbiest who's breaking his setup to move (pretty much guaranteed to be parasite free). They largest of my Tangs are already over 5" and the others are catching up fast!
