When my maxima let go -- it was super obvious and no questioning it. Your squasmosa I wouldn't call a goner yet until it starts letting go of it's shell. Sorry I gave you the advice of throwing it out before any picture was seen.

WELL...it's dead for real :( It was still shut, so I picked it up and it fell apart....and it's empty, so I am guessing it died and whatever ate it got in thru its foot area...
sighhhhhhh....my Derasa in the 29G is still doing great at least

I have to kind of disagree. We had a 16" in with 5 clams.... for years. They are not strong enough to force a clams shell open to be a predator. They WILL eat an ailing clam that isn't able to close it's shell tight enough due to illness/whatever.

So it didn't eat my clams? Okay??

Believe I said they are not known for opening healthy clams and consuming it. Didn't say they wouldn't take the opportunity to clean one out. Where meowsers is still closed I wouldn't think a star happened by, forced it open, dined and then neatly closed it back up.
