My Sump pump went out!

I have a 35 gal reef tank with only 4 fish & my sump pump went out 03/26/2010 which is located in the cabinet under the tank. I immediatly ordered a new one on SWF.com It should be here this week. Will my fish make it until then? I'm worried about the amount of oxygen in the tank due to the lack of waterflow. any info would be helpfull. thanks

How many powerheads do you have? as long as your water has good movement, you should be ok....Do you have any other filtration???

no, i have no other water movment in the tank. I don't have any powerheads b/c it was a custom build and there wasnt a need for them. I will be ordering a back up pump next time, but I am just hoping I can get by this time. what are your thoughts? thanks

I think you need to get some water movement as soon as you can.....like yesterday

will a small bubble maker work? I had an old one from hatching brine shrimp?

Just went to the store an bought a new pump, I guess I'll just use the one i ordered online as a back-up. Thanks for the quick info. P.S. The fish are very thankfull!

BTW IMO you reef needs power heads

What will be a real bummer is if you find out that if you "hit" the pump it would shake lose the impeller and start working again.

Just for future reference, airstones help a LOT when power is out or a pump has died.
I'm with Beaslbob with doing some pump maintenance to see if you can get it going.
