I am sorry about your drilling Scott - I wish I could help you out, where do you live again. Can you take it to a glass shop - it would be cheaper than buying a CPR
Thanks Al, I live about 2 1/2 hours from you about 1 hour from Rochester. I called the glass shop they will not drill the tank for you because of the liability issue, because if the tank were to break they would not be responsible for it breaking so they will not do it. I even told them I would sign a paper releasing them if the tank should break and they still said they could not do it for me. I ordered the CPR today and it will be here Thursday.. I will keep the internal overflow that I bought for when I upgrade. I got a good deal on the CPR is comes with the cover and aqualifter pump as a deluxe set I think it was a good price compared to other place whereyou have to buy everything separately I saved about 40.00 from the other places I Looked.. I just want to get the tank up and running been sitting in my living room empty for almost 2 months so I am doing what I have to get it up and running....

Man oh man - I guess you have to do what you have to do. I wish I could drive out - my son is in a dance competion in Buffalo on the weekend then i am going away again next week. You will be fine with the CPR, One of these days I am going to drive by and stop in.

That stinks that you can't get your tank drilled, but I will say this:
Almost all my tanks are not drilled. I've always used hang on overflows without issues. The CPR is a great overflow. I'm currently using one on my 155 and as long as you use the lifter pump, you'll be fine. Get black tubing for the lifter pump. We have clear tubing on ours and algae does build up in it and creates a little bit of an issue. It doesn't help that I'm a heavy feeder as well.
Can't wait for this tank to be up and running!

Hey all,
I am sure lots have been wondering where I have been and what has been going on. I will say that I have been busy working, and my tank is yet to be set up. Well, I got the electric installed like I wanted to, but then I ran into another problem. The floor where I was going to put the tank, I live in a very old house, and come to find out , some including myself, had reservations about the floor being strong enough to hold the weight of the tank. So, I had been waiting to get the floor reinforced, and today my stepfather came down and did it, so now that is done I can rest assured that I will not wake up some morning and find my tank in pieces in the basement. LOL. So, Thinking that I was ready for the go ahead to set up the tank, and talking to my stepfather, and telling him that I would really like the tank drilled, in stead of using the external overflow, has agreed that would be the best way to go, so tomorrow he will be coming to drill my tank and do the plumbing for the overflow and the return. I am so glad that he is going to drill the tank because that is how I really want it to be. I am very hopeful that tomorrow at some point I will be filling my 75G tank finally after all this time of having it setting in the living room not set up. So stay tuned for Pics of how everything goes because I know that I want to share this with all of you, but mostly because I know how everyone loves Pics... LOL
Scott =)

I know the feelin, been working on mine for nearly a year now. I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it once I do get it going.
Yeah, I know was looking at some receipts and it been a year that I have been working on this also. I do have the 29G QT that has been up and running with 2 clowns in it, but just want the 75G up and running so I know that it will be ready soon for more fish and corals.

About time this thread was dusted off! :)
BTW, watch out for your heater I got a finnex and it overheated my tank. Luckily, it has an alarm that goes off when it reaches 91. I had no issues of deaths.
