LOL. You jumped ahead and already bought your fish! Good for you. glad you are QTing them. And sorry, I am not a fan of emerald crabs. I had one that started to like zoas and yellow polyps. For corals, I agree that rics are nice. Orange ones are really cool. I also suggest Neon trumpet corals. They look good under any lights, and glow/fluoresce under actinics. You will like them. :)

yeah, bought them Months ago. Got a deal on them got both for like $20.00 they said they were Clarkii, but they look more like Allards to me from the research I did after I bought them. They have been in the 29g QT for months and they are doing great. OH love the orange and rainbow rics. Yeah def going to have some Trumpet in the tank.

really emeralds turned on u? Ive got 4 and they seem to respect my coral! I do feed em a treat of those pellets every now and again though!
BEWARE scott if u get some hermits (not a lot of people are fans of)....get some extra shells!
I would suggest some shrooms or zoos as ur 1st coral and maybe give ur system a couple months 1st!
Also i reccomend 10day waiting period between any additions....e.g. rock, cuc, coral, fish!

I had bought one a long time ago for my 75g at the time. It had bubble algae. It made the bubble algae worse. It just busted them, and they spread. I would hand feed it algae sheets too, and one night it was sitting in the middle of my yellow colony polyps grabbing them up. I moved it away from them, and later it did the same to a patch of zoas. It also scraped my rock to where I had white marks all over it. It looked horrible. And I like hermits. I always had dwarf blue legged hermits, and they never bothered anything. Yes ,you need to get extra shells. Goodluck Scott, I will be following.

Well, Meowzer I revamped my Frag rack for the QT, so when I start getting some corals I cam QT them for a few days. I took your advice and made it smaller and more durable. I think that I will set the piece of live rock that I have in the QT on it for now until I can figure out how to weight it down or attack it to the tank. Here is a few Pics of it.

This was it before:

It is 6" wide and 10" tall Meowzer, and if I get one that is on a big rock I can lay it on its side lol. Well if my clowns will toss them around, because they are the only fish in the tank right now..
