MY Tank Build Diary!

It might not be a bad idea to add the powerhead. To check how flow you have, you dangle fishing line or string in the tank and see how it blows around in those areas.

Oops, I agree and would not redirect the current PH's. I am concerned that the bottom of the tank does not have enough flow. Also, the cyano is not bad right now and most tanks will see it here and there throughout their life cycles.

how do you remove it manually, like with a turkey baster? I will try to move the PH's around in the tank and see where I get with that.. I think I have a way that I am going to try from your suggestion in the PMs and I am going to get some Chem pure or something like that to put in the sump and I think I have that figured out too where I can put the bigger pump back in there so I wont have the micro bubbles. SO that might help with flow in the tank also....

YES, the amazing turkey baster....LOL...it's a little difficult since the 225G is so deep, BUT I got a LONG baster, a step stool....and a towel

well my tank is not that tall so that will not be a problem for me I dont think lol.. But I will try that also I will try anything to get rid of this. I have to get a list together so I can order some stuff... and no more stuff for the tank until I can get the skimmer. Maybe I should get some Cheto also for the sump which I have not get that for it yet... So, tomorrow its changed the little pump for the big one than also redirect the PHs also....

HAKUNA MATATA buddy, lots have happen since my last visit huh?
Hey Keith, Well some has happened, I got some of my Clean-up Crew last weekend, and then this weekend I put the corals and fish in the tank. Seems that I have Cyano also in the tank because of low flow spots but am going to move the PH's around and I think I am going to put the bigger pump in the Sump again now that I have the water lvl steady in there. Doing theses things I hope will get this out of the tank.. I will keep everyone updated on how it is going you can be sure of it...

heya, if I remember correctly, you had like 4 or 5 PH I would probably add another in a corner or in the back to add more flow. Put the PH on the side in the back pointing to the other side and get a little flow towards the bottom. Just a thought.

I do have 5 of the PHs (Koriliia 750's) there are 4 in the tank right now and I just might add the other one in there to move the water along the bottom at the back of the tank. I am also going move the 2 on the side glass to see if I can get the flow in the tank to change. I am going to put the bigger pump back in the sump and see how that works I think I have it regulated so that I will not have the Micobubble issue anymore and I think that will help with the flow in the tank also. I am just going to try many options to see if I can get things in the tank worked out.

SCOTT...when you adjust the PH.....leave it for a little while (not an hour) LOL
try the flow test as mentioned earlier.....BUT you have to give them time to show whether or not that will work.....the stuff will not disappear instantly (unless you removed it haha) and may never come back (fingers crossed) BUT doubtful.....this is NOT uncommon.....

LOl, I know I will leave them to see how things are working out in the tank, I know that it will not clear up over night or anything like that, i know it is going to take sometime. I am going to adjust them and see how things work out with them. If I need to adjust them later on again I will.....

Ok I have changed the flow in the tank and it seems that there is more flow in the areas there was not, but there are 2 problems that I have run into with this. 1 which I am trying to figure out with the Help of Corey, since I put the bigger pump back in the sump for the DT, my dreaded Micro bubbles are back which is confusing me to no end, because the pump is fully submerged in water. I have check and there are no excess bubbles getting into the return section of the sump. It is just baffling why this is happening. 2nd thing is I have a pissed off Hammer coral, it was doing fine and nice and full, but since I have changed the flow in the tank it has not fully extended. It still looks good but just not out and as full as it was before I changed the flow in the tank. I want to know if I should move it to another spot in the tank to see if that will make a difference with the extension on it or should I just leave it alone and see how it does over the next few days. All the other corals in the tank seem to be doing fine and are happy.
