I mean like a hang on the back type filter. They are pretty efficient in my experience and not expensive.
I tried to find one on this site so he can see what it looks like but don't see one. Sorry.

It's a small, simple self contained unit. Your sump is a much more effective long term system, however, for a boost, these are awesome. They sell inserts in them, you simply pull out the old one, put in a new. Super easy.

I don t thin k it would give much of a boost in your sump...the cloudiness is in the tank...obviously in the amount of time this tqnk has been set up the current filtration and sump aren't able to pull enough out...I think it is because the particles are unable to get to your sump efficiently. Figure out a way to get the filter hung on the back of the tank and clean The filters day and night.

go get 2 75 gallon hang on back filters for say 80$ and ur water quailty will see a hugh difference,
I had this problem with a large piranha tank with the large Bioload my water was almost always cloudy till I cut back on the feeding and increase more floss and carbon and I saw a hugh change in the water quailty
in all of my saltwater tanks I run overrated filters for my tanks

I gave you my suggestion...there is no other thing to do without putting more filtration your tank...whether it is bioload or unfiltered sand...you need a filter on the tan k.

I am confused with all of the equipment you have down there. Can you point to where the water from you tank enters the sump please?
