No there is a line . When a thread about wearing PJ's in public get derailed into "what color lengirie would you like me to wear " "What color is your hair" ....... Whats next ? While we all get out of control from time to time this is not an ok avenue for threads to start taking . Simply because the same online preditors that crimzy likes to point out are lurking around, are the same ones that will be drawn here more offten if this becomes a "Flirting" forum . There are numerous websites and IM services avalible for this kind of conversation .

On this OP, did you guys read the yahoo news on what they said. They were really clear about the fact that they did not mean it that way at all. They basically said that in their culture it is not really offensive to point out someone's race or to make fun of them. It is not meant as a total insult like we would take it. I still find it pretty offensive though.

Hey we both apologized and said that we agreed. You don't need to be mean though. That is just as inappropriate. That is all we are saying. She was playing around with you, not being inappropriate.

CFR. I have to admit I find your threads even though idiotic, comedic to an extent. But In these racially sensitive days don't you think knowing as an adult and then continuing to do something that is worldwide know "racially provocative" I think is just plain stupidity and wrong.

I think offten times like this a group should think about what might be offensive to the others not whats ok in their country . After all wars start over things like social mistreatment of ethnic groups .
Take for instance in turkey they cut the hand off of a theif . Now send some turks over to the U.S.A and let them try cutting hands of of thieves and theres going to be some chaos .
I think its pretty safe to say that making fun of physical traits is not an accpetable thing to do when not trying to offened other cultures .

racially sensitive means nothing to me. if you are that sensitive about your race to me, it seems that you do not have your priorities straight.
as somebody that is polish, i have heard and told just about every polish joke that is out there, and i will continue to do so if and when the occasion arises.
i thought that that all men were created equal and that the only difference is the color of our skin, yet all this "accept and embrace our differences" junk is being forced upon us.
seriously. what is more important to you. your life, family and self-well being, or what some basketball team does.

it is hard to put yourselves in others shoes though. Remember hearing about that teacher who was going to be put to death for naming a teddy bear Muhammed? Crazy.....you never can tell what is going to be too much for another country.

I am trying to see your point but, we just have to agree to disagree thats all.. If you know its wrong why do it? I dont think its ignorance. I mean if your caucasian, you dont put on black face ala TED DANSON, If your an adult you don't slant your eyes. Its not an expression of just trying to be yourself, but if you know you might offend someone they why do it? I dont feel its an progression of the "human race" in general or diplomatic helps diplomatic ties or tolerance. BUT if you just dont care or give a hoot then thats ANOTHER story and YOUR PERSONAL prerogative just be ready for consequences of you actions. You might be going against the "Moral" majority.. I wonder how much attention the story would have gotten if they decided to pose in black face for some silly Ad if the games were held in Africa.
