So many people have the opinion that people should be more thick skinned. So many of you sit here saying, "I don't think XYZ is offensive, why can't they just get over it?".
What I don't understand, though, is why it is so important for everyone to have the same sensitivity to racial issues as you? Is there a reason that if something doesn't offend you then it shouldn't offend anyone?
In short, is it soooo hard not to be a jerk... especially regarding racial issues while in a foreign country as an ambassador?
I agree crimzy, just because i dont find it offensive, doesnt mean my chinese buddy shouldnt either. But, on the other hand, the people who do find this offensive are telling me that i should be more careful, and that i should be more sensitive towards some things.
If i dont tell them to get over it, they shouldnt tell me to apologize or change.
