I dont know if this would work (its pretty big) but I have an Aqua C Remora protein skimmer I got from a co-worker you can have for free. It's one that hangs off the back. It's used and I'm not sure if it has all the parts (it will need a powerhead for example). I dont think its meant for a nano but if you want to research it more you can. I know they make a Remora nano version...
I don't know of any nano skimmers that really work all that well. Sometimes you will hear someone say that it is pulling a lot of skimmate out, but it is rare. IMO, sans the protein skimmer, and buy a ro/di unit and use a good quality reef salt

i got 20-25/lbs of live rock and about 10/lbs of base rock, then a 20/lb bag of live sand.. Hope that helps
