drain like 1 quart of tank water and then refill the tank with 1 quart of RO/DI... should fix it.. you may need to do some fine tuning though.
I like my SG at 1.025-1.026

and just to be sure...did you calibrate the refractometer first with freshwater?

You should actually use the calibration fluid that they sell, sometimes it comes with the refractometer itself.

i did not even know the needed to calibrated.. ROFL.. i googeld and saw there are 23474 opnions on this like everything else in this salt water world however the method i went with was
r/o water.. and took it down to 0...

sad trip.. just found 2 dead hermits...
i think they're dying because im transferring my rocks to my 24 gal... i went from like 13 pounds to like 5 pounds now.. maybe thats why.. but regardless im going to take down this 12.. dont really want to take care of two tanks..
