Oh wow, I almost forgot. Thanks for the reminder.
You forgot to mention Stewart....I think he's got something for this one.

Can't give my entire lineup away
I bet most of the groups are going to be pretty similar.

w00t!!!
. Did good this week, season high weekly total, jumped from 4th to 1st overall. Yea, Kirk, that's quite funny, 1 point
. This season is shaping up awesome for fantasy, 65 points separate the top 5, just over 100 separate all of us.
The race was a blast too. Sucks for Marcos, but NASCAR made the right call. Anyone watch the Nationwide race at Road America? Aside from the red flag and lengthy yellows, that was an awesome race too. I would definitely be for more road course races, either in the regular season, or in the Chase. The days of road course specialists, are pretty much over with.

How can you say that? I actually didn't recognize 90% of the Nationwide drivers, but from what I heard, most of them were "road course specialists". In the Sprint race, you had Boris Said and Robby Gordon in the front for most of the day. When's the last time either one of them broke the Top 20 in a non road-course race? I personally don't care for road course races. Unless the leader does something stupid (as in the case of Marcos Ambrose), the lead doesn't have many dramatic changes. Passing at the end of the race is almost non-existent (who even challenged Edwards in the Nationwide race). Yea, the double-file restarts made it interesting, but the only place you saw much passing was around the hairpin turns. Of course you had Gordon ticking everyone off with his 'bump and spin' routine. It'll be interesting to see if Denny Hamlin stays true to his word next week at Loudon with Gordon. What was funny is when they interviewed Gordon at the end, he stated he kind of expected Hamlin to retaliate.
Somebody needs to start a pool as to how many laps it'll take before Hamlin tries spinning out Gordon at Loudon. I say Lap 10.

I almost had Johnson as my backup a list driver. Should of instead of Smoke. Oh well need to save a few starts for him for the Chase.

Only 3 of the top 12 in the Nationwide race were roadcourse-ringers, and only 2 of the top 20 in Sprint cup were ringers, including Boris, which isn't exactly a ringer, as he's done several oval Cup races. Boris and Robby were definitely not out front all day, Jimmie was clearly the class of the field all day, till Marcos' car came in, later on in the race.
Both races were really exciting IMO. It's not just about the lead, cars throughout the front were beating and banging all day. If it was about the lead, then any road course race is better then all the typically horrible to watch 1.5 mile D-shaped tracks (Michigan, Texas, Las Vegas, California) where the same guy leads 220 of 250 laps, with only 11 cars finish on the lead lap. The 2 times, IIRC, Boris had the lead because of pit strategy on a caution, he overcooked turn 2, and lost the lead.
You mean Martin Truex, not Hamlin though. But yea, it will be interesting to see what happens with Truex and Gordon. Nothing has happened from the Harvick/Logano deal, so we'll see.

Oops, brain fart. Based on Truex's post-race interview, I don't think it'll die off like the Harvick/Logano fracus.

Though I'm the furthest thing from an Earnhardt fan, It is kind of cool to see the 3 out there in the Nationwide Series. Hope he does well, but Kyle beats him on the last lap.

I'm not a Jr. Fan, but I do show respect where it is do and the 3 deserves it. So I wear my Sr. hat on occasion.

I was just going to post "Dwight! Tell me you raced the race?!?"

What does everyone think of the new cars? Personally I don't like seeing the Mustang out there. It's not cuz I bleed bow-tie, because I would equally dislike seeing the Camaro in there. It's that pony cars aren't suppose to be in NASCAR, they never have. NASCAR has always been with larger coupes. Chevrolet Monte Carlo's, Grand Prixs, Plymouth Superbees, Ford Thunderbirds, Dodge Chargers. Yea, I get that cheering for a Camry/Taurus to win is pretty weak too, but that's what the sport evolved to.
The only reason I didn't include the Challenger, is because the production Challenger, is a huge car
. But I do have a bone to pick. Why in the hell does the Challenger get to look so good and so close to it's production version? When the Impala looks soo terrible now. Not the production Impala is a head-turner, but the race car looks like a tadpole. It's so weird/ugly... And I think the Camry race car, looks better then the street Camry....

You don't suppose they gave little E a special plate for this race do you? It wouldn't be the first time they did so to manufacture an emotional win for him at Daytona (IMHO)

Aqua, the Impala has alway been and always well be ugly, why should the race version of it not be ugly.
The Challenger is the coolest looking car on the market this side of $50,000, foreign or domestic. These are of course the opinions of kjr and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Oh, I almost forgot....GM sucks

personally I think they should put the mustangs in the race, it has been a looong time since the sedans have looked good.

I would like to see them go back to STOCK car racing. If you are running a ford you have to use a production spec engine design like the old days. I could see allowing the nose and tail mods but basically run the factory body panels too. Maybe do that for the nationwide. You wouldn't see as many cup drivers slumming there that way.

Reef I hate to blow your Conspiracy out of the water already. But the plates are from a box from Nascar and also are not Numbered and are never out of sight of the Nascar Tech team. They are installed by the Inspectors and then and ONLY then are the Teams allowed to put the Carb on the engine. Why is Little E so good on a plate track. He is like Big E on them he can see and feel the air around him. He knows how to draft off the side of a car. You could put him in a TRG car and he would be up front.
