NCAA looking to hand down the 'Death Penalty' to USC

NCAA should limit the OOC games to 2 per year. Should also eliminate schools loading up on home games. That is what is such a joke about the current system, SOS is only a small part of the formula and totally subjective. Until we see a playoff system it's all just a beauty contest.

Tecas A&M is leaning towards the SEC because they are tired of playing second fiddle to Texas. For every 1 top recruitment A&M gets from Texas/Oklahoma high schools, Texas gets 5. If they move to the SEC, that could turn around. If you were a kid coming out of high school, which team would you want to play on? One that plays Oregon and Arizona every season, or one that plays Alabama, LSU, and Florida? It would also increase A&M's 'Power Team' numbers that would give them a better shot a BSC Title bids. Yea, they'd get spanked the first couple of years, but I think that would turn around pretty quick.

Playing Oklahoma, USC and Texas is going to be a good as Bama, Florida and LSU as far as power teams go. I don't see where the SEC would want to add just one Texas team but maybe. Maybe they'll take Baylor too

Yeah, unless they have somebody else they want, not sure why the SEC would want A & M, that would give them an odd # in the SEC, personally I would rather see the PAC go after another big market California team like San Diego St., maybe the LA schools wouldn't like that though.

Depends what they are after. If it is to become a Pac 12 they should grab a Utah school which would set up a rivalry with Colorado. If they pull in the Oklahoma and Texas teams maybe they should create the new Southwest conference. Of course Oregon and Washington wouldn't fit into that name but we could just kick them out

They are trying to get 4 schools now. So It would be the Pac-14. Texas Tech and Oklahoma State are tagging along. Nobody wants Texas A&M. They suck. There was an article on ESPN about how the SEC's first and secomd choiuce wouldnt be A7M but they would bring them in to help out the Texas ratings.
Kansas and Missouri are in talks with the Moutain West. Join Boise St. That Conference better get the Big 12's auto Bid for a BCS bowl this year if this all goes down.

That is an interesting thought.

I disagree, I doubt there is a more loyal cult fan base in the nation than A&M. Their problem isn't so much playing second fiddle as it is location. Bryan-College Station is out in the middle of no where. You'd have to drive 1.5 hours to get close to a major metropolitan area.

If they could snag Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech that would make for a pretty good conference and Oki State might be willing to jump into the big 10 but they did meet with the PAC 10 too. A&M and Baylor could maybe get shuffled off to the SEC. With Kansas, Missouri and Boise in the MW they had better be a BCS conference.

Nobody cares about A&M oustide A&M and their linkin log pile. Do they even do that anymore after those kids died in the horrible collapse? A&M football is a joke. The Texas Longhorns run that state. If they stay in the Big 12 it would stay a division. Now they are leaving its gone. If A&M left Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, and OSU wouldnt even care nor would they follow.
The Article talked about how the SEC's first choice isnt A&M but they would take them. They wiould rather Florida and Oklahoma. Personally I think the NCAA should not allow them to move to the SEC. No other Division would have a shot.

I don't think there is any way in Hell Texas will go to the SEC because of the TV contract. Missouri isn't going to be invited into the big 10 so perhaps the SEC might be interested in them. They actually make more sense in the SEC than a Texas school anyway because of their proximity to Arkansas and Kentucky. They should look at sniping another Florida school if they want to expand. A&M would work in the Mountain West conference. Baylor, who cares?
Going to be interesting.

Heres what I see happening.
Nebraska is gone.
Colorado Is gone.
Kansas Missouri Head off to Mountain West with Boise St. IMO becomes tied for the 3rd best division in college football.
Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech Join the Pac-10. Making it the Best Division in all of football. Followed by SEC.
Texas A&M Gets an Invite from SEC to join them.
Or this all goes away if the Big 12 Commish begs Texas to stay and gives them their own TV deal. If Texas stays OU TT and OSU will stay and you have a Big-10 which IMO will still be better than the Pac-10.

Hard to say right now but if the Pac's offer allows Texas to control their TV broadcasts they got to be foaming at the mouth.

Now it sounds like Texas was pulling a fast one. Used the possibility of bolting the Big 12, now the little 10 I guess, to get them to let them have their own sports network. Don't really see a reason for Oklahoma to split now but I wonder if A&M will head east now. I'd still like to see the PAC go after one of the good Utah schools to go to 12 teams.

Yea, looks like Texas just announced they were staying in the Big 12, and the rest of the lemmings are staying put with them. The Big 12 Commish dangled UT twice the amount they were getting for television (from $7 mil to $14 mil), and like you said, UT will have their own TV network. What do the other teams get? Probably a pittance of what Texas gets. I still think A&M should've bailed for the SEC. As long as Texas holds the purse strings in the Big 12, all the other teams in that conference will never get the same respect, or acquire they same new recruits and prospects.

Not sure they carry enough political clout within the NCAA to get it done, now if Texas and Oki were to give up on the current conference and stroll over to the MW, which makes a heck of a lot more sense than the Pac I suspect the auto bid would go with them.
