NEED ANOTHER SKIMMER :(

I'd like to here how it does for you... what size pump are you running to it?
I've had one for about 3 years & IMO it skimmed great lots of nastiness every couple days (55 gallon), however just about as noisey as a bathtub running (with a mag 5)....

I bought the one with the maxi-jet 1200......By the end of the weekend, I should have a report on it I HOPE a good one

I had said this in my post about my urchin. It makes setup as simple as 1, 2 ... um there is no 3. BTW, I am getting some real nasty green crap in my collection cup now. I have to say, this thing is working wonderfully. Well in my mind it is.

AHHHHHH...OMG HE DIDN'T.....
I had 3 boxes set aside to use for shipping Posiden my Octo skimmer after I clean it.....My husband was off today.....I got home from work and saw TWO of those boxes in the yard
HE USED THEM FOR TARGET PRACTICE
.......They were in my fish room.....not in the trash pile :( OH WELL.....at least I have one left

HUNTING SEASON................BAH HUMBUG!!!!!

Ha,Ha. No worries. There also is no need to clean up the other skimmer. Just give it fresh water rinse to rid it of the salt. I have no problems cleaning it up before I get to work on it.

LOL...I have the internal box the actual skimmer came in....I should be ok with that.....I have been giving him hell since I got home from work yesterday though

OK...it is on...MAN it is soooooo much smaller then the octo....I hope this is a good thing too
OH....there are NO bubbles coming out of it into the dt

I am not sure how to adjust it yet....I am gonna guess it is by the cup height

My game is about to begin, so I will watch it in between pitches LOL

I told ya no bubbles. There should be a rubber o ring going around the collection cup. you can move that up and down to adjust the height of how deep the collection cup sits in the bubbles.
But ya know, it is baseball, and no one really cares about baseball. We are talking about a skimmer for your tank, isnt that far more important? LOL

Yes, I know what to do with the o-ring.....just being careful I guess.....the only thing...I do not like so far, is that the body is dark.....so seeing inside to the exact height of the cup depth is kinda difficult......
I am not sure yet how far down to put the cup....I will watch it and judge that way (my other skimmer had a cup like that, and my bak pak does too)

I use my high powered flashlight to see inside the body to see whats happening. Here is a pic of 2 days skimming and what it got for me. I have the black o ring right at the top of the internal tube where bubbles exit.

That's close to where my o-ring is right now too
You have very wet stuff though.....you may want to move the cup up just a little bit
the skimmer under my 225G collects SLUDGE yucky nasty smelly thick sludge....LOL

Looking at it with a bright light, it looks like the plastic piece at the bottom of the cup it right above the water in the skimmer....I think I will leave it like that overnight....if it still only has spits in the inner cup tube, I will lower the cup in the morning.....and go from there
I do not want to test the cup too close to bed time LOL

OK....I guess I only imagined that I updated this thread this morning

I lowered the cup a tiny bit.....I have a teeny amount of ick in the cup tube.....not seeing any foam yet coming up

It has not even been 24 hours yet, and I know they need to break in...BUT...this is also not a new tank.....

FOAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....YIPPPPPEEEEEE...I just looked and there is FINALLY foam coming to the top of the cup WOOOOHOOOOO

I can't wait to see what is in it in the morning
