LOL...GUESS WHAT......It's working
BUT it seems warm.....so I put a small 4" fan behind the unit to see if that helps
Yeh - I have a chiller that I run an external fan on, because the one inside sounds like a small jet engine - so I disconnected it. I'd leave a good external fan on it for a few hours till it seems to cool off.

Keep an eye on it and let us know. If it's getting hotter than normal then it's most likely leaking freon and the pressure is getting to low, not enough refrigerant to keep the compressor within a normal operating temperature. May or may not be worth fixing if that's the case depending on what you payed or are willing to pay to get it fixed. If it's leaking from the coils then I would just consider it toast. I wouldn't advise sniffing around to see if you can detect a funny smell coming from the unit because breathing in freon is not good for you. But if you do happen to notice a odd smell coming from the unit I would shut it off.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya and hope it's just a cheap capacitor than you can replace and keep it for a back up unit.

OK...SEEMS TO be doing it again....it is NOT hot though
BUT...the red light was blinking....anyone know what that means? The green light means the unit is turning on.....I can not find anything...ANYWHERE that tells me what the red light means.
I just unplugged it, and I am gonna leave it unplugged for a few minutes....Just to see what happens

Sorry to butt in, but you won't find to many home AC guys that will mess with chillers and even appliance guys shy from them. Current has issues with their chillers though....Always have. Decent for about a season and then crap out. It's possible it could be froze up, and would try unplugging for a bit and restarting, but should hear the compressor cycle on and off.

Meowzer is it a flow through unit or drop in? The 1 I had before my Delta was a flow through unit by current.

Did you leave the external fan for it running? Usually a blinking red light like that indicates it shut itself off (hard fault at least partially) for some reason. could be compressor overtemp, overpressure, underpressure, freezup, any number of conditions could have caused it... THere's somthing wrong with it for sure. . Usually the only way to clear a "hard fault" like that is to unplug it and plug it back in after a few minutes, but I'd not run it unless you are there to babysit it, and if you gotta leave - unplug it. TIll you get the new one - if you gotta run this one some to keep its DT cool, run it, but don't leave it alone - treat it like somthing heating up on the stove.

OK...I just noticed something......I have it set at 70.....when it goes to 72, the green light starts blinking and within a few seconds it comes on
then the chiller goes to 68.....2 degrees below my temp set...that is when the red light startes blinking...>SO IAM THINKING that means it is calling for the heater to turn on.....IT has a plug in for a heater
Tang....the unit is not warm at all....BUT I moved the fan to the front (blowing back), thinking that maybe the air needs to blow the other way LOL

As far as an external fan on it, it should blow the same direction as the one inside, but as long as the fan inside is running whenever the compressor is humming - it probably doesn't need the external one.
As far as it's programming & what it's trying to do - I have no idea. Almost sounds like it's little electronic brain got cooked by lightning a little and now it has a mind of it's own. (this I have had happen)

LOL....there is no telling.....I just know I need it to work some to keep this tank cool...I bet it will be a week till I see the new one
With it running the way it is, the tank is staying around 73...when it runs right it should be 69-70 I do not know what will happen if it does not run at all :( this is a cube so it has a lid...all I can do is open the teeny flip top part, and I doubt that will help much
Surely it is not dangerous to run it this way.

And the fan runs the whole time the unit is on

As long as the fan for it runs - when fans quit, those little compressors get very very hot, and will even begin to cook the collected dust on them, smelling up the room like when you turn on the central heat for the first time each fall. I was just worried the fan might have been quitting.

45 minutes.....That's where the ***** is...LOLOL
HA - so I bet you mailorder about everything!
I do too, but my town has a *****, petsmart, and a terrible nasty little LFS that is so depressing to go into, I'd rather just go visit a cemetary. I just mail order everything cause it's SOO much cheeper than the 50% markup ***** puts on things...I go there for emergencies and dog food only.
Only thing I miss about living in North Dallas was living 3 blocks from Dallas North Aquarium......I've spent many many thousands there. Now a days it's the online retailers that have 95% of my business, and get most of my income too
