oh, i though you meant filtration like carbon and such... but yea, its never happened in any of my tanks, ever.... i did a very small water change, around 1/4 for a gallon, since thats all the premixed water i had on hand. lol i need to make/buy some more, but i may be buying a refractometer soon, so im holding off right now. im not in such a hurry anymore since i missed school today, and will be missing friday, as well as last period thrusday, so im gonna be swamped with homework...

man, thread is kinda old now. haha
but not all hope is lost. tank really does look the same still. no clean up crew yet, no fish, nothing. i MIGHT get some corals sometime this week, or next weekend from some locals. just some mushrooms and a kenya tree. gotta test my water tho, to make sure everything is spot on. tomorrow i might get a few snails. school is settling down a bit, so its giving me a little more free time for this tank.
will update if anything special happens. lol

If you're going to get coral, you really need to get your ph up to 8.2-8.3 range. When I first started keeping coral, it really looked bad until I got my ph at a pretty constant 8.2 or so. Just a thought.

i got some portland cement from home depot, and added some old live sand i had, and some rock salt, added water until the consistancy was like thick pudding. then i made molds out of the left over live sand, and poured the cement mixture in.
towards the end, i would just make a big rock, and smash it on the ground when it was dry, to give more random and unique shapes that look more real.
and update on the tank, its still empty... i think that in itself is amazing. haha maybe after new years it'll have a damsel, or some sort of coral in it...i just dont have time for it. i was actually thinking of tearing it down, but decided against it...for now...

my halide is show right now. not working at all. and the fact that im low on funds for extra stuff, such as this fish tank. i also dont have much time for it anymore. i started this tank in the summer, when i had little to do. well, school, firends, and faimly events are using all my spare time. the only reason its still running is the fact that i know im going to lose money on it if i sell it. otherwise, it wouldve been gone a while ago.
i think im going to fix the halide, and then its off to the classifieds on my local reef clubs website...

I agree with that. Just having it sit isn't going to kill anyone. wait until you're ready, I'm sure you'll thank yourself later.
