NEVER burn a bridge!

So I have been out of work for many years. I was laid off in 2003 but have stayed out of the employment pool pretty much voluntarily since then. Recently my wife's job has been turbulent so it was time for me to re-enter the job force. (Good timing huh?) In December I contacted my last place of employment and they said there was a possibility of something in the future. Well they called today and I start next Monday. When I was laid off I had a drawing that was due to the Fire Department the next day. Even though I was laid off I stayed and finished the drawing, then packed up my stuff. So while I am sure there are stories out there of people telling off their boss and finding a better job the next day, I will stand by what I said, Never burn a bridge.

Meow, probably more. I will be at a desk job whereas being home the only time I could post was when I was taking a break. Although it does probably mean no more foster puppies.
SoCal, who knows, with the extra $$ I may even convert my tank back to salt water.

LOL....SEE....I'm not the only one who is on all day at work too. As much as I am on, no one ever believes I have 2 jobs :)

I can't find the clip online for ya, but it was a joke about this guy's current office job, being like every other office job where all we do all day is play on the internet

lol, there was a woman I read about (I think she was in houston) who was browsing the employment add section of the newspaper. And ran across an opening at her company for her job. So anyway, she got ticked and destroyed 1000's of drawings worth millions in man hours and raised a whole hubub at work. Anyway, she ended up going to jail over the whole thing. The kicker was, they were fixing to promote her, and get her to hire her replacement.

Sorry tank, but Joe cannot be sexually harrassed. No way, No how. He looks at it as a challange.

Even though I agree it is not a good idea to burn bridges, I burned one at my last job, then called in a airstrike and demo team. Then a strange thing happened about a month later, they called and said the bridge had been fired and was no longer with the company and when do I want to come back to work. I guess they fiqured out a good employee with the ability to do every job at the company was more valuable than a office manager who everyone disliked. Never did go back, but it was a nice gesture.

Thanks all! Had to go in for the drug/alcohol test test today and I kind of overdid it. I was in PAIN before I finally got to pee in the cup. I should have listened to my wife who said I was old so I would have no problem going multiple times during the appointment.

I kept my mouth shut when it happened, but I was very pissed. I had to get a second job and told my boss what that would mean with my hours. few months later I was being booted out the door for this very reason. Now because of this A-hole I am living at my mother in laws, had my bike(only transportation at the time) repoed, had to sell my tank to pay the bills. Yes, if I ever see this guy again he will get cussed out at the very least. But, the one good thing that came out of this is I do have a respectable job working at the second Waldorf Astoria in the world.

Thanks!
Now we are scrambling to find a way for the kids to get home from school. They of course go to different schools. Having two kids that go to the same school would just be too easy. We are doing the what if this....... No what about that....... thing. I am reminded why I quit my job 10 years ago.

If you want the story, (short version) we had too much going on with both kids and both of us working. My wife made more than me so I quit. I gave 6 weeks notice to train my replacement. This same company made me an offer I could not refuse, they made a safety/environmental position for me that was part time. They worked around my kids school/sick day schedule. I even worked from home during the summer. This lasted 4 years until business go so bad that I got the ax. So now 6 years later they are taking me back.
Once again I have to say, never burn a bridge.
