Wait. When did you add halides? To your frag tank? What post are the details?
LOL
I didn't add any halides, I was referring back to when I had halides over the 125 and how they heated the tank and the basement. I've had a tank in the basement of this house ever since we bought it....only now do I realize how cool it gets down there in the winter.

Where did everyone go??

I know right!!!
But I am just as guilty.... This time of year my work schedule gets crazy and I don't have time for much of anything else. I will get on and look around at all the post that I have subscribed too but not leave any comments.
I did see that you decided to get rid of the Kessils. I hope you have better luck with the Powermodule. I hope to start buying corals at the beginning of the year once work slows a bit.

I finally picked up a Reef Breeders 120 watt Bridgelux LED Fixture from my LFS yesterday. I should be able to get it hooked up above the frag tank within the next few days..

I just ordered a few of their fixtures. I'm pretty excited about stepping into the world of LED's

Woke up this morning to find my pink & blue spot shrimp goby n the floor.
I'd had him for a while...... I didn't think they were jumpers.

Ya gobies are jumpers ... I've had to save a mine a couple times. I even have a mesh top on my tank. Sorry for the loss.

So far I like it. I have both channels on timers but I do have to manually adjust the color intensities to acclimate the few corals that have been in the dark over 7months now. I will get the extra live rock out in a couple of days and either put it into the sump or display. Right now both channels are at the lowest settings.

Wow is your sump clean! Is that what you clean out for water changes? Light looks good
Thanks!
I did clean the sump out once since it has been set up..... I moved the extra rocks from the sump to the frag tank because of an outbreak of cyano. I think now that all the new rock in the display has completely cured and the tank is a bit more stable I should not have that problem. Plus I put the sump light on a timer opposite of the display tank instead of running 24/7.

So I found out that my RO/DI filter has been leaking.

The Brute trashcan that is used to hold the RO water for water changes sat right under the filter. (you can see the filter in this old pic)
A kink in the 1/4" tubing dripped water onto the metal filter bracket and completely rusted it. Rusty water would drip into the RO water every time I filled the can.
I ordered a new bracket and I'm going to mount it in a different spot once it arrives. I also ordered a new RO membrane and some DI resin but with the crazy weather in Ohio everything is delayed......
I don't know what kind of effect rusty water has had on the tank...... Ill have to do some research.

Gotta love those little surprises. I wouldn't sweat it too much. They sink old battle ships to start reefs these days.

Agreed I've heard ppl putting rusty nails in the tank for nutrients
Thanks for the info. From what I have read you guys are right. Everything in the tank has been and is still doing ok so I don't think I need to be worried.
