New critter for the tank. Blue Linckla Star

Meowzer, I couldn't stand it any longer. Saw that Red / Orange one you got and well that did it. He he / she is acclimating now.

they are awesome. they look squishy. I saw some small orange ones at the LFS around here

Actually they are pretty hard. I think they add a nice look and I am happy with the Blue.

If you see an Orange Linckia at the LSF be wary and get a positive ID before you purchase it.

I had one years ago...I didn't know they dig and it suffered a rock slide death, I was so upset I never got another one. That's a beautiful color, I think I like the blue best.

I would love to see how yours does.....I also would like a blue one ....

OH....Well I think there are a lot of reddish/orangish stars.....so you want to make sure it is actually a Linckia.....

I read the same thing meowzer but I had to see. They had 3 or 4 blue ones when I went by today so I just picked me one and went with it.

Nice write up. Led me to believe, and I am probably mistaken, that the orange / Red and the Blue are the same species. So with that said why would one be harder to care for then the other. I am going to continue to read this article as I have mostly skimmed it over.
I can tell you this, he has pretty much ran behind a rock and stayed there for the time being. One day I will remove everything in my tank so I can see what all I have bought.

Yes, I've seen many Gomophia egyptiaca and Protoreaster lincki for sale as "Orange Linckia". Neither of these are reef safe.

So I come home tonight and the Tube anemone has made its way from the backside of the tank through the rock and back to the original spot that I made for it. I may be the only person with a highly motivated tube anemone.

Its losing weight from running around that tank so much.
