Hey meowzer, did you ever get a brain coral? I read somewhere that you would like to get one. Google : Green Trachyphyllia, they are really cool.
NO, I still have the glass goblet of course. I decided to wait on the open brain.....I think it will need to be in the sand, and a lot of my open sand is designated for the stingray...

Is it normal for it to open like that at night, and be flattish during the day???
I mean...it seems to puff up after lights out

To tell you the truth I never have checked mine at night, I will try and look before going to bed tonight and see if it is still fully opened. I know it is opened up all day long while the lights are on. Let you know tommorow.

It may take it a week or so to get acclimated to your lights may be light shock right now and when the lights go out it opens up.

OK...thanks....this thing is soooo wierd...like I said everytime I look at it it is different, my tentacles (whatever they are), don't seem to be as long as yours though....maybe that happens after it gets use to the tank

If I remember correctly when I purchaced mine it looked just as yours does for a week or so and it started to open up fully from that point on, yours should be fine give it a week and chances are you are going to be surprised at the change.

YES, a little birdie names Posiden gave me a tip....

Thanks....I would like to have a different color monti, but this is what he had...and it was free

Tweet, Tweet.
I will cut you a frag of mine if you wish, just a little time for some growth is all I ask.
There wasn't any frags of this one for sale so my wife asked the guy to frag it. He kinda looked around.....then asked the guy in charge and the next thing I know the two are hovering over the tank and out comes the super glue.
SWEET!!

OK...Need some advice
Apparently in my 225G I have some very mean fish...LOL...Today my sand sifter decided to try to bury the elegance

I cleaned it off, and moved it to the side some....
IFFFF...my fish will not allow me to have this in this tank....Can I put it in the 54G under a dual satellite????
I read they do not need high light

WELL...@#&*(*&^%^...I got home tonight and it had sand all over it again..
It does not look happy :( I cleaned it off, and put it in the 54G...the 3 peppermints literally attacked it...I kinda figured once they realized it wasn't food they would move on...and they did...
I fear it has some recession, and I can only hope that it recupes in this tank...
Anything I could do? or should I just leave it alone and see....

If it is receding there is nothing I know of other than watch and wait....... Good Luck!!
OK here is mine to see too..Another shot of him is posted under Elegance Coral on the sites listing of corals......
I sold him for a nifty a profit long time ago before he when down hill any or killed everything in reach which he was very good at doing..He was getting close to two foot across.........

You ask about feedings of individual months earlier in the thread.. Although not necessary it does not hurt. I always liked to watch him feed.....As to tentacle extension long extension is good... Puffy body with short extending is not so good.... Be sure to read all of Eric's stuff about them you can find... He is the expert.
But I still think long term health is an issue... I hear these days the Aussie specimens fare much better........
Do read and heed Eric"s research study to see signs to watch out for........Warren
