I am making the switch from IO Salt to IO Reef Crystals salt
Just did my 1st 25G water change in the 225G with the new salt...should take me a couple of months to be switched over

I still have enough IO salt to make almost 300G's
SO I guess I will be using that for my 54g and 29g for now.....

my sps growth and xenias growth have been great. remember every tank is different. you can set up 2 tanks with the same water, salt, rock, sand, everything and both tanks will be completely different from eachother.

coral boost
-some people also got cyano with this but went away within weeks but had some sort of coral growth with the leathers and shrooms
coral frenzy
-nothing was wrong with this one. everyone love it! great coral growth!

Well, I bought all 3....I do not plan on using it daily as it says, just as an additive every so often

what's a salt change suppose to do for growth? If you are maintaining ca and alk salt isn't a limiting factor. Reef crystals = Instant Ocean with added calcium and vitamins (which well balanced feeding should supply). I'd focus on lighting, nutrients and low phosphates for growth. I use IO. "reef" salts are overated. IO has high alk and thats whats in most demand (3:1 vs calcium) so I never really got why high ca/low and moderate alk salts were the "reef" salts or how reef salts are suppose to reduce dosing (any reduction in ca dosing will be more than made up for with carbonate dosing given IO typical 12dKH vs others 7-10dKH). either way sooner or later daily dosing of ca and alk will become a neccessity BUT carbonates are always used up quicker than calcium. Further more studies have shown elevated carbonate levels increase growth with little to no side effects while elevated calcium does nothing for growth (not that this has anything to do with anything. just a FYI since you want a salt that will do something for growth. IO has more carbonates then about any salt on the market. no salt will likely KEEP alk elevated but it does have more than most if say you have a low demand reef. I use IO for example but still require 15ml of seachem reef carbonate daily to maintain 8-9dKH).

ALL the buffers on the market are baking soda (carbonate), bicarbonate (baked baking soda) and some have borates to artificailly raise testing (but not useful) results. they are all good, the only difference is how much you are paying for them. BRS or regular store bought baking soda is the same thing.
