New tank!

I'm picking up a used hex tank today...I don't know the size yet (the guy has around 5 of them) and I still have to look at it and decide. I'm thinking I could redo my seahorse tank, the smaller foot print means extra room in my small bedroom and more climbing room for the horses. I'm going to get a smaller hex tank to fit under the stand for a sump. (I do have a canister should I need it, and not have a sump (worse case))
It's all in the dream stage...I want to use my existing equipment...which is geared for 60g

LOL...I don't have room for more than two tanks. In the space where I have my desk now, I will place the new tank...then move the critters to the new home, break down the old set up, and place my little desk where the 30g is sitting now.....in the end I will just have the 90g and the seahorse tank.
I'm using my laptop computer so I won't need the desk for a little bit while I get the new tank set up. I don't want to be in a hurry to swap everything, I will need live rock to suite the new tank too.....LOL...I haven't even decided if I want what the guy is offering, I have to get going and have a look, but I do really want a hex for the seahorses, like I said.....it's in the dream stage.
When I get back i will tell you what I found....Maybe some pictures too, so I will bring the camera with me.

I guess I will go tomorrow....I fell in the shower and my leg is pretty brused. My arm hurts too. I didn't break anything but I don't feel like tank shopping.....I may feel even worse tomorrow...

OUCH....sorry to hear that...hope you feel better....get some ice on the booboos
I fell a few hours ago and just started feeling good enough to get on the computer. I'm hoping I won't be too stiff and sore tomorrow. I have been iced up, rubbed down with some stinky stuff for sore muscles, and took some aspirin....good to go for now
I ordered an aquaripure for the 30g and a Two little fishies reactor. What media do I need to buy and what pump? I'm ordering online.

LOL...it is entirely possible I was not paying attention thinking about checking out some hex tanks....I was pretty sore last night, but I feel pretty good today..still limping, but I kind of limped before I fell...my doctaor called it a pain gate when she filled out my sick benifit forms, I guess it's the way I walk.
I have a question...
Does any kind of phosphate granules work, or are there certain brands made for reactors?

It really is good to have tanks inside your house as they are not that of a high maintenance as long as you clean them properly when you have to.
I first started one on the back porch of our house just outside the door and it was a good combination with our garden.
We soon decided that we should put an oval one right in the main entrance of the door like in that episode of mtv cribs, if you have seen it.

when i ran a reactor i would go to petsmart and get the media in the filter bags and just cut the bag and pour it into the reactor

I ordered a pound from bulk reef...I used a calculater they had...for 60g of water (my 30g and sump volume) I only need 15 tbsps of the granules. I then did the carbon...all this time I have been using a cup...it only takes 6 tbsps ... I was in shock. I used a cup of purigen (very expensive) in a mesh bag too...I have wasted so much money on media.
I'm a bit lost on how a reactor works, and how to set one up...mine should arrive next Wednesday, so I will be asking some questions when it gets here as I set it up.

....LOL...I just told you in a PM....

ANYWAY very easy to hook up too......if you are gonna use the same pump as your return you will need your "T" AND of course the hose to go to and from the reactor You will need a piece long enough to go from the reactor into your return chamber....and a piece long enough to go from the reactor to the "T"
Of course you can not get the hose until you know what size...LOL...you wnat it to fit tight on the reactor but should not need clamps

Thanks...it should be alright, I just worry over stuff. I don't think I will mess with the return...get the reactor it's own little pump.
The sea hare is shrinking...I sware it's smaller. The red turf algae is going away..did it eat it, now I wonder.... and the green hair algae is going crazy...
My once beautiful SH tank..this is with daily WCs and I pick what I can off every morning.

HMMM...You do have it bad.....have you considered moving the LMB temporarily???
AND I am very surprised teh seahare is not munching it.....I never heard of them eating the red.....I would get it off the cords though....with the exception of the lmb chomping it...I don't usually see too many critters climbing cords
OH....Do you have any turbo snails????
