newbie about to buy zoas

here's the front tank shot.. get an idea of the actual size and shape of the coral.. tank's nothin special.. i know.. lol -- i have a question tho -- to keep with the original purpose of the thread.. I want to move the corals to the rock on your right side of the pic.. the powerheads on that side, and can't be moved to the left..anyways, would the blast be too much for the zoas if i take off that attachment for the powerhead? that rock has more of a smoother surface for that rock the zoas are on... color is a lot better in real life, i swear.. lol, but my camera isn't the greatest.. thats the best i could do without completely whiting out the sand. I'm sure it'd be a lot better if i had actual t5's or mh's.. but.. meh...

Can't, the frags at my store were pretty much dead. So I had to pass on them. Then the zoa's they had were a fraction of the size you had but were charging $100 for a quarter of the peice you have! I had to pass on it and was rather upset that I can't get the hammers or the zoas.

Sparty...if you go to the free shipping store....after adding a hammer frag, frogspawn frag, and zoa frag...you are already at $60
throw in $20 for a couple crabs and a few snails LOL

ive made it complicated like that.. there's no 'space' cause of the filter.. the filter can't go to the other side cause of space issues with the heater.. .unless the filter stays in the middle.. which is .. different... weird? i dunno.. i jsut dont want to rearrange everything i guess.. cause thats what should be done.. lol..?

ive made it complicated like that.. there's no 'space' cause of the filter.. the filter can't go to the other side cause of space issues with the heater.. .unless the filter stays in the middle.. which is .. different... weird? i dunno.. i jsut dont want to rearrange everything i guess.. cause thats what should be done.. lol..?

OH...well frogspawn and hammer need the same conditions.....I had a FS under pcs.....did fine....of course it grew faster when I got in under T5's.....but did ok under the pcs

Yeah, I would like to get a zoa frag for $10 at my LFS but they're practically dead. Not to mention if the person that got their zoas for $40 got THAT much... I would expect to get something around 1/4 for the $10. I would be buying maybe a tenth of what they got for $40 and I would be paying $10. So realisticly I'm looking at paying $100 for the zoa too! I'm going to try another LFS tomorrow and hope for a better result, but beside that if they don't have anything, then I don't see myself getting corals unless people trade or let me buy frags from them. I think it's rather insane to expect to sell a TINY FRAG for $10. And I don't see any justification in buying online when I don't want to buy a million things for my tank. once again, I could get to $80 by getting just 4 things in that free shipping store here at SWF.com. I dont think i have placed just one thing into my tank yet. Even when I did the fish, i also put in either shrimp or snails or coral. Your tank is soo big, i dont think tossing in 4 pieces of coral all at once will make that big of a splash. Do it! Celebrate MSU's great run this year.

Just something I don't do. I like to keep things exciting and not add everything all at once. If I add bi-weekly then I'll be able to keep this whole fish tank thing fresh and exciting. I don't want to have it turn into a chore and one day just look at it and think geez do I really have to?... adding things once and a while is the way I do things. I added snails one week, then peppermint shrimp the next, then more snails the next with some fish. It keeps it exciting and makes it enjoyable to see everything get along.
