I for one get sick of the "have to win Superbowls to be a great QB". I'm sorry, are Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson better than Dan Marino and Fran Tarkenton because they won SB's...Are Terry (50% career completions percentage) Bradshaw, and Troy Aikman better than Peyton Manning because they have more SuperBowls....Hardly.
It takes 52 guys (more or less) and great coaching to win SuperBowls.
I didn't say that, I was just pointing out that other QB's with similar style of play, or offenses haven't had the success that other styles of offenses have had. Which is what scares me about Romo. Because personally I'll take the 90's Cowboys vs the 2000 Colts any day of the week.

Bahaha, that one drives my brother crazy too.

Hey at least he didn't go on and on about the vikings declining a running into the kicker penalty. Then even after the break half way into the Viking drive still refer to the Vikings declining a penalty.

Wining a super bowl is important. Dan Marino was great in his day but has no rings and all his record are just about broken by qbs that have them.
To say Favre sucks because he has 1 ring in 19 years is just flat out stupid. He was contantly in the playoffs in the 90's Losing to Dallas a few times when big d actually was great.
Dan Marino will forvere be known as the greatest qb who didnt win a super bowl. Thats how much winning one matters.

Actually I think Aikman does a pretty good job, he's not Collinsworth or Gruden, but I don't mind Aikman...He has NEVER shown any bias toward the Cowgirls that I've seen, and he does their games quite often...It's the same with Herbstreet doing Ohio St. games.

I think Favre's 3 MVPs and Peyton's 4 speak for themselves....Again you can't win a football game at any level by yourself.

i cant beleive with favres sesaon that he didnt get MVP, came in 3rd
The stats are there, I guess you have to go by who was going for undefeated seasons at the time over the guy whos team was starting to look a bit vulnerable

That was Aikman, wasn't it? I was grabbing the computer to check the play-by-play when it was finally corrected, thought I missed something.

1 for 4 on the weekend...

Didn't get to see any of them, but what a surprise to hear the results. Really shocked about AZ and Dallas.

I didn't get to see much of either game Sunday, I was busy running around getting the ingredients to make my first batch of homemade fish food (my fishy friends seemed to be in HEAVEN when I fed them last night
)

I'm not the greatest at recognizing voices, but I was pretty sure it was Joe Buck

Joe (his Dad was the best) usually calls the play and then Aikman yaks until the next play starts. He probably talks right commercial breaks without realizing it too.

Regarding dallas. Garrett was the probl;em and Flozell getting hurt didn't help at all. Min blitzed a lot. Garrett didn't switch game ploans to counter the bl;itz. Very little slats/screens/draws/ wr screens...nothing we saw dallas do against other blitzing teams. they also stopped running the ball early on and don't go for it on forth and 1.
With that said...minnesota played a stellar game. And I agree with them going for another score with a minute left. as far as I knew dallas still had their first team defense on the field.
Minnesota to take it all...lets get favre one more ring.
Dallas next year should be interesting. They only have to sign 3 or 4 players to retain everyone and wade got his contract extended....lets see what another with the same squad does.
Dallas fans....this year was very similar to the year before dallas won it all in the 90's

How many NFC East teams are left Darth?
Tough for an NFC East team to go to the SuperBowl with none in the title game.

The NFC east top to bottom was the toughest around this year. The Giants started out 5-0 and everyone was ready to crown them SB champions, the ESPN North East homers are always trying to crown the eagles as something, and the Cowboys played pretty good down the stretch. I'll bet you the Aints are pretty happy they don't have to see those Cowboys again this weekend.
The Cowboys lost those 5 games by a combined total of 19 points. I'm pretty happy about where we are sitting despite who we have calling plays on offense. If we can pick up a little depth on the O line, and the secondary. Then they can go back to the Parcells way of keeping Marion healthy. I'll take our chances.
I'm going to go way out on the limb here and say the Jets over the Manning. And the Vikes over the Aints. Personally if the Vikes play like they have the last 2 games and can play, the Aints don't have a chance.
Now I'm just picking the jets because I hate indy's offense.

I'm picking on Darth because he stated multiple times that an NFC East team would be in the SB....The NFC East was strong, but the Giants were horrible down the stretch, and frankly the Iggles fell apart a bit as well. I would argue the South was about as good, Carolina was good down the stretch and Atlanta was good when Ryan was healthy, and Tampa was no worse than the Skins.
I would argue the Viks are probably happy not to have to face the Cardinals whom beat them a lot worse than Dallas beat N.O.

Seriously? Of all the teams in the playoffs (besides greenbay) the Cardinals were the ones I was begging to play...AZ replaced their professional defense with high school players...something about saving money to try and resign Boldin so he can sit injured for atleast 8 games next year, in a Cardinal Uniform.
How many south teams made the playoffs?

Cards D was a mystery the last 3 games...They do have 3 pro bowlers on D and were ranked 20th for the year, not great but not 32nd at least. Boldin has one more year on his contract. I like the guy, but I hope they trade him so Doucet can get his chance.
I would have put Carolina as a better team down the stretch with Mikey Moore than the Iggles whom looked horrible....If your going strictly off playoffs, the North has a better record at 1-1 than the East at 1-2.

I swore Boldin was a free agent this year.

No, he is due a whooping 3 million...I wish I was due 3 mill this year, but for the fastest receiver ever to 500 catches, it's a little low. Lets you and I work out a trade for him...We'll take your center Gurode (sp?) and Flozell "False Start" Adams...What do you say?

???
Are you talking Dallas? Dallas would dump Roy Williams in a heartbeat if they had Boldin, no offense but don't even compare Williams to Anquan, he has had a couple of injuries, but the guy is tough as nails, he came back 3 weeks after a broken jaw with no pain killers. His stats are off the charts compared to Williams.
