Man, some of you folks are really dilusional.
For one, in this day and age, you can't just bomb your way to controlling the world. Even though a lot of people in this country seem to think so, that's just not the case.
Secondly, I think it's pretty obvious (like a previous poster mentioned) that if North Korea did in fact lauch a missle with a nuke on board, it wouldn't make it out of it's own airspace before it was shot down by Japan/China/Russia/USA/ etc.
Just like NORAD, Japan/China/Russia and the like all have advanced radar systems too, and you can rest assured they are all keeping an eye out.
I think the big misconception these days is that the world in 2009 isn't much like it was in 1943. If one country actually decided to drop a nuke, that would more or less be the end of life as we know it. Once one drops, then another drops, and another... and before you know it, nuclear winter is here.
The reason that "big sissy" Obama and the U.N. for that matter are taking a diplomatic approach, is because we don't WANT to have to fire that first missle to start the domino effect that could very well be the end of the world. Plus, if we ABSOLUTELY had to, North Korea could be wiped off the map in a matter of hours...
To me, North Korea reminds me of that kid in high school, who was never very popular, but always acted like the tough guy. At first he seemed a little scary, until you realized that God forbid he actually went after some kid someday, the rest of the high school tough guys would put him in his place quicker than he could throw a punch...
So Kim Jong-Il is a dilusional tough guy. Does it really matter? Let's be honest, North Korea has zero political or financial gain to the United States, so let's just leave him alone until he actually tries something.
Which in my opinion, he never will...
Which reminds me of another thing that drove me nuts about the Bush Backers... One of the paramount arguments about the war in Iraq is that "He went in there and toppled a murderous dictator and freed the people".
Uhh yeah. Money had nothing to do with it...
So why then, did Cowboy George not go into North Korea, or Darfur, or a number of other places where things are much, much, MUCH worse than Iraq?
Look, if you supported him and freely admitted that Iraq was about money and oil, then I have NO PROBLEM at all with you. In fact, I applaud you for your honesty. However, it's the people who use the "we went to Iraq to free the people" that make me wanna puke up my cinnamon toast crunch...
2 things.
1. The analogy about the bullies is fine, unless you are the original person the bully attacked...........
2. Darfur and N. Korea did not pay individuals (terrorists) large sums of money to blow themselves up in the middle of civilian districts.
Darth (never one to ignore the rest of the story) Tang
P.S. still waiting for all this oil you keep saying we got.
